Strong opening for the allure of tears

The Barbara Wong Chun Chun directed THE ALLURE OF TEARS (KING SING JI LUI) two days ago was released simultaneously nationwide. Its opening day box office already reached 10 million RMB and held its own against opening big films FLOWERS OF WAR and FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE (LUNG MOON FEI GAP 3D). Executive producer Feng Kaishuai and director Wong Chun Chun was very excited about the film's Mainland success.

Wong Chun Chun said that ALLURE was a small romance. At first she worried that viewers would choose the traditional large production, thus the entire team promoted even harder at many major cities in hopes of attracting even more young viewers. Thus its opening was able to hold its own against two large films. It was a shot of confidence into the entire team. Hopefully the film's future Hong Kong release will perform well as well. One of the lead actresses Gigi Leung Wing Kei happily said, "Everyone said that I was lucky. I too hoped to be able to bring my luck to this film so it would perform better and better at the box office. If it will pass 100 million, I will treat everyone to dinner. Executive producer Daniel will take everyone on vacation to celebration."

Joey Yung sits on a net worth of HK$300 million

As the Big Sister in the Hong Kong music scene, Joey Yung has been a favorite among the large brand names and advertising companies over the 12 years since she debuted. Her income will only increase and not decrease. Also, Joey's mother directed her well in the field of investments, allowing her to silently become a young female millionaire. It is estimated that Joey net worth is nearly HK$300 million.

Since Joey Yung debuted with her single Unknown (??) in 1999, she has developed smoothly in the current over the 12 years. Shortly after her debut, she had already become the Queen of Pop locally (in HK) and had been accepting jobs after jobs. Despite denying long before of the millionaire rumors, Joey's nickname as 'The Young Rich Lady' is actually completely a fact. According to the data collected by [Mingpao], does this Pop Queen only have HK$100 million? In fact, she currently owns 8 luxury homes (units) with market prices reaching HK$200 million. Also, with her mutual funds, other investments and income, it is estimated her net worth is already nearing HK$300 million.

Joey revealed before through interviews that she hands over all of the money she had ever earned to her mother to manage and invest, she only takes a thousand dollars each month and does not spend it at all. She also praised her mother's good direction on investments. She believes buying a 'brick' is the most stable form of investment, so over the many years, she mainly focuses on buying properties and then renting them out. She only purchases small amounts of stocks to be used as her pensions in the future. As such, after several years of investing in the real estate market, Joey and her mother probably have over 8 units under their name.

As far as these 8 units, the majority of them are located in the Hong Kong Island district with a high potential of appreciation, the housing prices in that area will just increase and won't decrease.

Aside from properties, Joey also buys some mutual funds as her long-term investment. Since both she and her mother are extreme prudent investors, they will only buy the stable blue chip stocks (reliable/profitable). It is believed their total value is over HK$3 million.

Since Joey's debut, she has been a favorite among the big brand names and advertisers. Just this year, she already did 7 advertisements and earned an average of HK$3 million for each endorsement. Her total income from shooting advertisements is approximately HK$2.5 million. As for attending shopping mall events and other functions, she was offered so many jobs that she couldn't even keep up. In Mainland, she is offered an average of HK$500,000 per show that she attends and each year she takes part in at least 20 shows. Also, for local (HK) public appearances, she makes at least HK$300,000 per show. On top of all that, Joey also earns bonuses from her concert tours and music albums. A conservative estimate for her income this year is probably about HK$6 million! [Mingpao] contacted Joey about her net worth, her company EEG and herself expressed they have no comment.

He is a good actor, this time I really hope we can collaborate, but nothing is confirmed yet. We'll wait for TVB to arrange it."

I am not worried about our acting being compared; I am only concerned that the performance will not be good.” It was understood that Michael Tse’s filming fee in Hero will be $150,000 Yuan per episode.

Kevin Cheng’s filming fees allegedly soared to $250,000 Yuan per episode in mainland China. Taking into account Kevin’s income from filming Ghetto Justice 2 "????II", Hero, and the modern version of Bu Bu Jing Xin "????", Kevin was slated to earn $30 million HKD. Regarding his current filming fees, Kevin stated, “I am very satisfied, but the amount is not as exaggerated as the reports claim.”

The focus of the media yesterday was on Kevin and Charmaine Sheh’s (???) recent reconciliation rumors. Both Kevin and Charmaine were currently filming in filming in Hengdian, China. Asked by reporters about the reconciliation rumors, Kevin said they were not true. “We have always been good friends and our relationship is not as described by the media. It is fine even if we were to be photographed by the media!”

Other cast members of Hero include Ken Chu (???) as Fan Li, an advisor to the State of Yue. Newcomer, Li Sining (???) will portray Lady Ji Jiang, whose performance will be highly anticipated. Ying Er (??) will portray the great ancient beauty, Xi Shi. Hero will be broadcast on Hunan TV station in China.

Chris Lee and Chen Kun both eat sand during fight scenes

The Tsui Hark directed 3D wu xia epic FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE (LUNG MOON FEI GAP) was released yesterday. Originally the Hong Kong release was to be the Cantonese version, but because earlier during the professional screening film critics, directors and viewers all would like to watch the original Mandarin version. The film company in accordance to the audience demand released the Mandarin version starting today. The Mandarin version will have Chen Kun and Chris Lee Yuchun's real voices. Lee Yuchun joked, "In one scene Kwai Lun-Mei and I fought over Brother Kun, I in particular got to slap him. That slap was especially loud. With my real voice I believe it would be very realistic."

The film's six leads Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit), Zhou Xun, Kwai Lun-Mei, Chen Kun, Lee Yuchun and Mavis Fan Hiu Huen all stated that this film was the most difficult. Several beauties all became "wind eating beauties". Zhou Xun said, "The shoot took place under below freezing temperature. Even my hands and the sand under my feet were frozen. My head and ears ached. Sand storms also kept appearing at the location. As soon as cameras rolled, the wind making equipment blew. I couldn't even open my eyes." Chen Kun and Lee Yuchun in the film had the most fight scenes and every time they wielded their weapon they ate sand. Although they suffered "abuses" at the hands of Tsui Hark, everyone still appreciated him. Chen Kun said, "this time I played both the good guy and the bad guy at the same time, I felt like I had a personality split. I also had to fight with Big Brother Lee Nin Kit. Although it was tough the director very patiently displayed the actors' potential. We truly both loved and hated him."

Kate Tsui doesn't want Ron Ng as rumored partner before it gets boring

Last night, new film Laughing Gor Turning Point 2 held the film premiere. The cast including Michael Tse, Francis Ng, Kate Tsui, Bosco Wong and Janice Man attended. Raymond Lam was also present to show his support. Kate was dressed in a low-cut dress stealing the limelight, but she expressed she had already done all the safety measures to prevent accidental exposure.

As it was rumored Ron Ng's girlfriend Viann Zhang called to yell at her, Kate said: "That story is never ending, it's like a dramatic series. Actually Forensic Heroes III promotions are over, Ron isn't my partner anymore, my new partners are Francis, Bosco and Michael. We can change the rumors, otherwise people will get bored. (Then did she call and yell at you?) Of course not. Everything is just randomly made up nonsense. (She said she doesn't know you!) But I know her, she is Ron's girlfriend! That's what the news say. (She even said you were a slut!) I'm not. It's probably just made up news. (Do you think Viann's gone too far?) I think it's just a made up story, she didn't say it herself. It is enough that I know myself that I'm not that type of person. (Then did Ron say sorry to you?) He didn't initiate anything, it's doesn't matter. There is no need to especially talk about these rumors."

As Myolie Wu openly expressed she wanted Francis Ng back for Triumph in the Skies II, Francis said he is still in the discussion stages and has already left his schedule with TVB. Since he has never been a guest star before, he does not want to break the tradition. He said: "After all, still discussing a lifelong contract. The 'mother school' (TVB) is struggling, so the graduates will have to try donating, just won't ask for a high pay! In fact, let's not even talk about the money, I'm actually afraid of shooting sequels, afraid I won't know how to be that character again. It's special this time because no matter if its an elder woman or a granddaughter, they all want me to be back. More importantly is my son kept pointing at the TV when he saw me appear at the TVB Anniversary Awards. I also hope to shoot something for him to watch and be able to help TVB as well. We will make a better sequel together." As the cast are busy with their jobs, the film promotion are lacking. Michael admitted most of the promotion will be on the internet, but he hopes the box office will get better and better.

Bowie Lam, Moses Chan, Kenny Wong holds X'Mas Rock concert to promote 'When Heaven Burns'

The When Heaven Burns (WHB) rating sinks into a depression. Last night the cast including Moses Chan, Bowie Lam and Kenny Wong took part in a X'Mas Rock promotional event. The three announced they have established a band called 'Sober Band' and hope a record company will invite them to record a CD. Bowie is currently developing in Mainland, so he hoped their singing will be popular from Beijing all the way back to Hong Kong.

As for the low ratings, Moses has not felt disappointed yet. He believes the audience just haven't accepted a new type of series yet, but a taxi driver praised the series is very good. Bowie has already signed with a new management, but he still strongly supported that the story is very touching and that the finale should move audience to tears. Bowie also indirectly criticized TVB: "Actually gotta thank TVB for giving WHB so many promotions. It has already been in storage for two years and they could have kept it in storage, so what? TVB still decided to broadcast it, gotta thank them!"

Producer Jonathan Chik said WHB is his most creative production, it is his own sweat and blood. He haven't felt unhappy for the poor ratings, and its hard to see the majority of the cast out at the promotion last night. It was reported that WHB dragged down the prime time ratings, even the sitcom broadcasting in the 8pm time slot has been affected? Jonathan disdain the report, and asked reporters if they flipped the times in their calculations? He joked he doesn't understand how to do this type of calculation.

Raymond Lam avoids unnecessary trouble, don't touch social media

Yesterday afternoon Raymond Lam was in Whampoa in Guangdong harbor to take part in a dance contest as a guest judge. As for ex-lover Mavis Pan coming to HK to audition and attend events? He expressed: "I haven't kept in touch with her at all. I hope everything is going smoothly for her." When speaking of the many events happening around the Christmas holidays, reporters expressed ATV's Mr. Asia Contest 2011 was held last night. Raymond said he will be spending Christmas with his family and laughed: "I heard from friends that there was one contestant on Mr. Asia named Lam Fung (Arm Nuttakit Kotcha of Thailand), but I can't say too much about the other TV stations. (Someone had on a crystal swim trunks!) Haha, I can consider that for my concert next year."

When speaking of good friend Ron Ng's girlfriend Viann Zhang's 'bed photo' posted on Ron's Weibo earlier, Raymond laughed and said reporters will have to ask the people involved. However, he personally does not have an account on any of the social medias. He probably won't open one because fans and his manager will help him announce his schedule and whereabouts. Does he want to avoid all the unnecessary troubles? He said: "No, in fact I am just lazy, so I don't play with social media."

Sonija Kwok admits pregnancy for first time: Vomiting with Happiness

Former Miss Hong Kong Sonija Kwok is experiencing double happiness. Recently she confirmed she is over 3 months pregnant, becoming an addition to another happy event in showbiz!

Sonija: "Life is like that, things that I didn't think would happen just happens. In the past, I really never thought I'll be having children that quickly. It was only after marriage, I started thinking about it and naturally I enter that stage in life. Before, my mom often rushed me: 'Daughter, you are not young anymore. If you don't have any children now, you will feel life lacks something spectacular. You'll be 38 next year, if you want to have a baby, then quickly!' The present me, I really have a baby. I have stepped into motherhood, feels quite interesting.

I never thought of how many children I want to have, wait until my baby comes into this world first before I decide! I still don't know how being a mother is like nor do I know if I can handle it! My husband has told me before that I should have a few more babies because he really wants a girl. He said girls will stick to the father more, but then I asked him what if the baby is a boy? He said he will like too. I personally don't mind at all. If I have a girl, I can help her dress up. If have a boy, he can protect me in the future.

Speaks in detail of changes in the body

When I found out that I was pregnant, my husband wasn't in HK. I called him to notify him, he was so happy. He even kept saying the baby must be a girl! I said don't say that, if the baby is a boy then he'll be very disappointed. In the early stages of pregnancy, I often felt unwell and always vomiting. It was such a difficult time having to vomit all the time. If I stay in a loud place, I would start sweating severely! Also, I don't know if this is due to the hormonal changes, but after I became pregnant, I don't have patience at all. Luckily, I have pretty good appetite, especially like to eat sour and salty foods. Although my husband is in China for long periods of time due to work, my mom is here to take good care of me. She's always making me soup. I really feel I am in such a happy life.

Every pregnant woman greatly anticipates that moment when they are getting their ultrasound. It feels so fantastic! I feel my own heartbeat and that there is something inside moving, it feels so interesting! I think when my baby is born, I definitely won't be able to hold in my emotions, I'll be so emotional I'll cry. I temporarily plan to have my baby via C-section because I'm afraid I won't have enough strength to push baby out. Haha! In the past, I saw women giving birth on TV, so painful and so difficult. Mothers are truly the greatest of all.

New stage in life, no desires

My husband will be back in HK to accompany me once he's finish with his current jobs. Then later, we will be going back to China to spend the new year. I already told him to take a few months off before I go into labor to accompany me. After I have my baby, I will continue to work. In fact, when one gets to the stage of life that I'm in, they don't want to fight for anything. Just hope to live life comfortably. There was a period in time that I didn't sleep for 3 days, 3 nights. Nowadays, I'm really experiencing a different phase in life. It is because of my baby that I declined several series, losing 7 figures. Initially there was an upcoming series that I had the opportunity to collaborate with my husband since I had to be a female fighter, but now I can't shoot it. Although I lost 7 figures, I feel its all worth it because this is a happy moment in life. I feel very happy.

Before, people asked if my relationship with my husband would be affected if we are in two different places? I'm not afraid! From the start, we were always away from each other, so when we meet we would be particularly happier. Sometimes I would go to Mainland to visit him and when I get back to HK, I really like the being alone life. He completely trusts me, the most important is trust in a relationship. If I can't get a hold of him through the phone, I won't be afraid, it's like a kite, run and release. Each individual needs their own freedom."

Maggie Cheung innocently rumored with Ben Wong, laugh it off

Maggie Cheung and fresh out of the oven Lives of Omission TVB's 'Best Supporting Actor' Ben Wong are currently being rumored. Already married, Ben and Maggie were photographed eating out together at the TVB canteen. Yesterday Maggie attended a LONGINES ribbon cutting ceremony, and denied that she and Ben were dating and eating together. She thinks of the rumor as a joke, just for laughs and is amusing. Ben is a very good gentleman, and she knows Mrs. Wong too. There is no need to explain to Mrs. Wong: "I was just having a meal with him at the TVB canteen. At the time my assistant and I were eating together, but then I saw him eating alone, so I told him to join us."

She stressed she will not find her other half at work. Maggie said: "I give myself very strict regulations, work is work. I keep work and personal life completely separate. That's why my boyfriends in the past were all people from outside of the industry." She also hopes her Mr. Right appears soon. On Christmas, she will be celebrating with her family and later go on a photography trip to Switzerland with friends. Will she be like Gigi Leung and have a long distance romance? She feels long distance romances are hard to maintain, but all is left to fate.

Yesterday Ben attended a separate event and explained that day he saw there was an empty seat, so he sat down. It is because he has known Maggie for many years and just bumped into her at the canteen. Next time he may just have to sit with the crew for lunch, perhaps that would be better. However, what shocked him most was his wife was photographed too. He said his wife is not very courageous and is shy, so he rarely takes her out to events.
