Yesterday China, Hong Kong and Taiwan artists gathered at the star-studded The 18th Shanghai Television Festival (STVF) opening ceremony. Rumored couple Charmaine Sheh and Kevin Cheng were present along with Ada Choi, Christine Ng and TVB Siu Sang & FaDans Bosco Wong, Myolie Wu and Moses Chan. Ada recently got her pay raised to 20K RMB per episode for her participation in Zhenhuan Zhuan (???) and is the top paid among the HK actresses. Charmaine isn't weak either, as she disclosed her pay is comparable. She also indirectly bashes Myolie Wu, who recently purchased a HK$10 million luxury home after shooting just two Mainland dramas. Charmaine said: "I just have to shoot one drama and I can buy it!" As for Kevin Cheng, who has pocketed 30 million RMB just within 6 months of working in Mainland, Virgina reveals he plans to buy 3 Shatins.

Bowie Lam, Bernice Liu, Peter Cheung, Eugena Lau, Jeanie Lee, and Maria Cordero attended a luncheon commemorating the 23rd anniversary of a magazine. Due to his relatively free schedule without current filming projects, Bowie Lam gained weight and will need to exercise more.
Bowie’s new drama, Strangers 6 , featuring Toshiaki Karasawa , Oh Ji Ho, and Liu Xuan, was currently being broadcast in Japan. The Korean-Chinese-Japanese collaborative drama centered around a group of six experts from the police forces of Korea, China, and Japan whose secret mission was to protect the countries’ economic future. Toshiaki Karasawa was originally scheduled to travel to Hong Kong at the end of February to promote Strangers 6, in which Bowie made plans to take him out to dinner. Unfortunately, Toshiaki had to postpone his original travel plans to Hong Kong until the drama was broadcast locally. Bowie indicated that he did not know when the drama will be broadcast in Hong Kong.
Bowie also disclosed that he received a filming proposal from mainland China regarding spies. There was a high chance that Bowie will accept the filming offer, but he did not know who his costars will be. Bowie suggested casting Flora Chan (???), as numerous netizens wanted them to star in Untraceable Evidence 3 . When it was pointed out that numerous TVB veteran actors were recruited by the new television stations in Hong Kong, Bowie indicated that he was not clear about the situation.
While tabloid reports claimed that Bernice Liu had already signed with City Telecom (CTI), she clarfied that was not the case. Bernice had signed with a management company, allowing her to collaborate with any television station. The construction of Ricky Wong’s (???) CTI production facilities will take place in Tseung Kwan O shortly. If CTI were to invite Bernice to appear at the event, she was glad to attend. When it was pointed out that TVB was petty, Bernice said that TVB was not petty to such a degree.
Former TVB artists, Eugena Lau and Peter Cheung, have been pursuing the true cause of their son’s death for the last 7 years with the Hong Kong Medical Council. Although Peter’s lawyer had issued numerous letters to the medical authority, the results were still under investigation. Peter intended to follow up with complaint experts.

Charmaine Sheh and Moses Chan's fairytale love story in TVB new series 4 In Love attempts to bring a message of hope to the people of Hong Kong. Charmaine frankly said the storyline triggered a lot of visions for her future and that she hopes to be able to find true love. Aside from speaking about love, Charmaine also groans about the difficulty of shooting the every-changing scenes. At one point, she thought about leaving showbiz. 
As for Charmaine, she directly said life is like a drama. She sighs that it's hard for her to develop relationships with people outside of the industry: "If there really is love, then there is no choice. The guy must be mentally prepared. Both sides will have to remain committed and have no suspicions. (Evoke a vision of the future?) Of course my future, hope to find true love."

Although it's been more than half of a year since the Manila Bus Hostage Crisis happened, but it's still a pain to most Hong Kong residents.
TVB's new drama "Flying Tigers"/"Special Duties Unit" (tentative name) starring Joe Ma and Jessica Hsuan was filming a bus hostage scene yesterday, very similar to the Manila hostage crisis. The scene is about Kenneth Ma, who plays the villain, takes over a tour bus and demands the police to release his wife (JJ Jia). He goes crazy when he knows his injured wife dies. 
Actors filming the scene was not so willing to film this scene. Jessica Hsuan is worried this part would rub salt into the wound of victims from the real hostage crisis. Kenneth Ma, whose role resembles the real hostage taker, expressed he has no control and can only follow the script.
As most know the Taiwanese rendition of "Absolute Boyfriend" was originally suppose to star Wu Chun and Goo Hye Sun. While Goo Hye Sun is still attached, Chun has dropped out and the drama is once again in limbo and are still searching for their male lead. One speculation is that Chun is clearing out his schedule for his big break into the movie industry. According to Chun's manager, he had dropped out not because he" "doesn't want to act. It's because the script isn't good yet We have no clue when they will start filming and there is no set broadcast date. We are dropping out right now because we are worried that the schedule will not fit well (with Chun's movie)."
