At the 17th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild Annual Dinner last night, the 'Outstanding Performance Awards 2010' were presented. Many artists attended including Eason Chan, Nicholas Tse, Shawn Yue, Fiona Sit, Pakho Chau, Kara Hui, Louise Lee, Lo Hoi Pang, Lee Heung Kam, Fala Chen, Samantha Ko, Michael Tse, Pierre Ngo, Evergreen Mak and many more. President of the committee Eric Tsang, Vice Presidents Stanley Tong and Gordon Lam personally welcomed the guests, a very lively atmosphere.
The awards were divided into 'TV Scene', Radio Scene' and 'Music Scene'. Last year TV King and Queen Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang received no recognition, but instead Charmaine Sheh and Moses Chan took the awards. However, both were absent from the event, otherwise it would be a perfect event.
Fiona Sit unexpectedly defeated Kara Hui and Sandra Ng, she was honoured with the "Outstanding Actress Award". When she accepted an interview, she frankly said that whether if it's experience or acting, she can't be compared with her two seniors: "This time the award has taught me that I cannot be arrogant. If there is arrogance, then I can't be good at acting."
Losing out on the Golden Horse earlier, Nicholas Tse was presented with the "Outstanding Actor Award" in the Film Scene. He does not feel that 2010 was a prosperous year for him: "Awards are source of encouragement, not reward. It is receiving approval from audience, see if I took a step forward."
