2NE1 planned to debut in Japan in March but the big earthquake and tsunami made a halt of this schedule. Under the same entertainment company of 2NE1 (YGE), BIGBANG is supposed to hold a Japan tour in May but according to the announcement made by YGE on 16th, whether the tour can ultimately be conducted is still a question.
He further elaborated, “It is not appropriate to debut in Japan concerning how the current situation is nowadays. The first and foremost thing is to help Japan to recover from disasters.” 2NE1 was originally planned to do their pre-promotion of their debut in Japan starting on 9th and they planned to appear on ‘Music Station’ of Fuji TV on 11th.
However, on that day, Japan was stricken by 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami which made their appearance on the TV programme impossible and they were forced to return to Korea on 12th. He further said, “From March to late April, they originally planned to spend 2 weeks to do their promotions in Japan but now all of the activates have to be cancelled.”
And he said, “BIGBANG’s tour in May has been planned but now we do not know whether it can be held as scheduled.” Meanwhile, YGE has donated $500 000 USD to help the victims of the earthquake and tsunami.
