[NEWS[ Actress Yoon Eun Hye Joins Asian Superstar Chow Yun Fat in Chinese Historical Film.

Actress Yoon Eun Hye Joins Asian Superstar Chow Yun Fat in Chinese Historical Film.

Actress Yoon Eun Hye (26) is confirmed to star as a tragic heroine alongside Asian superstar Chow Yun Fat, “Nodame Cantabile’s” Tamaki Hiroshi, and Taiwanese pop star and actor, Alec Su in the historical film “Tong Que Tai.”

Tong Que Tai is about the story of a beautiful woman who was buried alive with Cao Cao, a figure in the Chinese historical novel-chronicle “Romance of the Three Kingdoms,” which is based on the events surrounding the end of the Han Dynasty and the rise of the Three Kingdoms era. The story is inspired by the mystery surrounding the remains of a woman in her twenties that was found in Cao Cao’s tomb by the Hunan State Bureau of Cultural Relics and confirmed by the Chinese Academy of Science in 2009.

Zhao Lin Shan, a prominent Chinese director, will direct the movie and said to be the script writer. Director Zhao explained that he will tell a story based on the final days of Cao Cao, who built Tong Que Tai, at the capital of the Cao Wei state. The story will focus on his strategies and his final love.

Yoon Eun Hye will play the woman, opposite to Chow Yun Fat’s ‘Cao Cao’. Tamaki Hiroshi plays the era’s warrior ‘Mu Shun’. Alec Su will play the ‘Emperor Xian’ of the Han Dynasty, who usurped Cao Cao and his son.

The cast will begin filming in Beijing next month and because the cast were from Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan, the film is expected to come to theaters and reach audiences across the region.

Hins Cheung angered by a taxi driver with 'mental issues' and scolded him

Yesterday afternoon Hins Cheung encountered small episode while in a taxi. When Hins was sitting in a taxi leaving Wan Chai, the taxi driver asked Hins a question regarding the HK$6,000 tax rebate. At the time, Hins expressed he did not qualify for the tax rebate, but unexpectedly the driver started insulting him. He said people from Mainland come to HK and 'fight for food!' (stealing jobs) Then he defamed the current female artists in the entertainment business, that they don't wear any clothes. The driver kept scolding and scolding until Hins couldn't stand it anymore, so he asked the driver to stop so he can get off early before he reach his destination.

Later, Hins posted his conversation with the driver on Weibo. Netizens and fans madly forwarded the post and expressed their strong support. However, some people took the opportunity to give a few more 'kicks'.

Hins: "Wan Chai Lockhart Road, Please."

Driver: "Sure! You are that singer!"

Hins: "Yes, how are you?"

Driver: "Did you get that HK$6,000 tax rebate from the government?"

Hins: "No, I didn't qualify."

Driver: "Wah! Yeah, you are from China."

Hins: "Yes."

Driver: "You can't earn a living in China? There are so many China people coming down here stealing the jobs."

Hins: "...."

Driver: "And, you people in showbiz are such a disgrace. The current female stars all don't wear any clothes."

Hins: "Driver, can you please let me off here."

Driver: "We haven't arrived yet!"

Hins: "Basically I wanted to tell you to get off the car, but I don't have a driver's license, so I could only get out of this car myself."

Driver: "Ah, ok ok. Consider me bad luck!"

Hins: "Once I get out of this car, you should go see the doctor as soon as possible. You have mental issues, Chi Q Sin!" (TN: I'm guessing 'Chi Q Sin' means 'Crazy' with profanity)

After the conversation was made public, Hins got many support from fans and Netizens. They all say he did well and praised him being so 'man'. However, there was one Netizen that used profanity to ridicule Hins: "Hins Cheung, low-X-level! But I couldn't believe you are the same as me, didn't get that HK$6,000!" Hins attacked back: "The most disappointing is its apparently not that taxi driver, but it is you, this black-hearted fellow here making nasty comments. Please do not humiliate Cantonese people, thank you." Hins' record company expressed Hins already made the issue public on Weibo and will not comment anymore.

Sincerity still comes first for Deanie Ip

Winning the 68th Venice Film Festival Best Actress, Deanie Ip Tak Han yesterday returned and attracted over 100 media members to welcome her at the airport. In white casual wear and a straw hat, Deanie left the gate with a smile on her face. She said that after a long flight she would like to go home and shower the most. She also did not forget to urge the Hong Kong government to support the Hong Kong film industry even more.

Because the flight was delayed for half a hour, Deanie did not appeared in the lobby until the afternoon. After accepting the fresh flowers from the crew, she brought out the award for media photos. As for the victory, she said, "I truly didn't expect it, it's like I had help from God. It's a type of encouragement for me. Seeing everyone happy about my award, I am very happy too. However I would be a little more withdrawn, I don't want to flow too much. I have to remain calm, ultimately this isn't just my credit alone."

Deanie honestly said that she has settled from the exciting of the award. "I settled down very quickly, on the flight back I had men all around me. Everyone had their shoes off, it was very hard to fall asleep. Now I am still a little dazed, I want to go home and shower the most. Without cleaning the home in over ten days, I am the most worried whether the toilet is clogged." She also revealed that when Andy Lau Tak Wa called to congratulate her, he just kept laughing. Last night she would attend Wa Jai's 50th birthday party and brought the Best Actress award and the Italian Catholic humanitarian organization Signis' "special award" to Wa Jai as birthday presents. Would she increase her salary after the award? She said, "I don't dare to, even if someone hires me I have to consider it further."

As for when she would work with Wa Jai again, she said, "In 1989 I ran into (Ann) Hui On Wa in Cannes and spoke of a singer who wanted to bring into the first place of the top ten. Hui On Wa said that (something) that was deliberately done would never be pretty. I was talking about me. If I want to win an award I make an award winning film, then if I make a get rich movie can I get rich too? The most important is sincerity. The concentration when I act with Wa Jai has already reached another level." Deanie instead wanted to seek breakthroughs like working on the stage and with hard working and passionate musicians.

After winning an award Deanie asked the Hong Kong film industry numerous time to support the film industry. She said, "The best would be allocating fund in support, colleagues have to make an effort too." Some said that both Wa Jai and Hui On Wa said that they had to beg investors for money for dramas. This time would the award change the reality? Deanie said that everyone knew about market demands. Foreigners had fund investments, in Hong Kong a hit movie had to be made. She also understood that the young people preferred love story mainly drove the market, but she still hoped to be able to make some movies for mature viewers. She said, "Anyone in business wants income, a film investment costs quite a lot so I hope the government can help and make more movies about social issues."

In addition, Lau Tak Wa last night celebrated his September 27 birthday in advane with over 100 fans. Fans from the Mainland, Japan, the U.S., Thailand and others places even prepared banners to write different well wishes for Wa Jai. The fresh out of the oven Ip Tak Han also appeared at Wa Jai's birthday party. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heung Wa Keung, Vincent Kok Tak Siu and So Wa Wai. The admission for this birthday party was HK$500, the proceed of which will be donated to charity.

Mrs. Heung said that she donated six figures to the charity and wished Wa Jai 100 years without change. As for Wa Jai's actual birthday, she said that he usually would not appear that day. Last night, Wa Jai's parents should have appeared. Reportedly Wa Jai's big celebration this year was a make up wedding banquet? Mrs. Heung said, "You ask him." Heung Wa Keung also said, "Tonight is very happy, of course it is." Mrs. Heung was asked about when Wa Jai would have a child but Mrs. heung only said that everything would take its natural course. Speaking of A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH)'s Venice Film Festival success, Mrs. Heung said that kindness is rewarded. Heung Wa Keung said that last night was not just a celebration for Wa Jai's birthday but also the Mid Autumn Festival and A SIMPLE LIFE's awards.

Bosco Wong & Kate Tsui Too Carried Away In Their Kissing Scenes

32 years ago, “Fa-Gor” Chow Yun Fat (???) and “DoDo-Jie” Carol Cheng (???) sealed a kiss for three minutes in classic TVB drama, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly«???», thus paving the way for intense kissing scenes in the future dramas to come.

Fast forward to today, Bosco Wong (???) and Kate Tsui (???) imitated those two seniors and even did a good job of glamorizing intense kissing scenes, smooching each other in every episode until their lips were cramped. As for whether the other party is a good kisser? Well, only they would know the truth. Even if the other party isn’t a good kisser, guess they would rather suffer bitterly in silence than to voice it out…

R = Reporter
B = Bosco Wong
K = Kate Tsui

Got despised for not being comfortable enough

R: “Have you guys kissed until your lips were cramped yet?

B: (Turns to Kate and asks her) “Are your lips cramped yet?”

K: “Still okay! Haha!”

R: “Is the other party good to kiss?”

B: “She (Kate) honestly said that I wasn’t good to kiss.”

K: “Not good, really not that good to kiss! It felt dirty and antagonizing (forced) as he stank of smoke. This was because in “Lives”, Bosco’s role as Cripple Co. required him to smoke all day long so it was really smelly and a big turn off!”

B: (Jokingly) ”You say it like as if I ate garlic meh?”

K: “I really detest the mustache lor! It made me feel very uncomfortable!”

R: “Then in this case, Kate, what is good to kiss? If the lips isn’t good to kiss, maybe it would be better to reach inside the lips? (The reporter was referring to french kissing.)”

B: “Joking meh? We never kissed inside until so deep lah!”

K: “Yeah, we strictly abide by the yardstick imposed on television dramas.”

R: “So is Kate good to kiss?”

B: “Kate is well-known for her pair of red lips and renowned for possessing a deer-like mouth. Only one word to describe, satisfactory!”

K: “What did you mean by that ah?”

B: (Hesitantly and uncertainly) “Well, you are really famous for your thick lips mah! No meh?”

K: (Gives a dumbfounded gape and speechless stare) “Is there really such a thing?”

B: “It actually felt quite okay!”

Throwing himself into character, kissing until he felt great

R: “Among so many female stars, who is the best to kiss?”

B: “It had to be “Xiao Yi” Kitty Yuen (???), Xiao Yi’s lips are really thick, but that’s just my personal feeling!”

R: “Not good to neglect Kate’s “face” oh, is Kate amongst your top three actresses who are good to kiss?”

B: “Kate is also included, she’s in the top three position.”

R: “Is Kate as good to kiss as [Bosco's heavily rumored girlfriend] Myolie Wu (???)?”

B: “Er……Almost the same lah!”

K: “Each of us simply can’t be compared to Myolie in any way lah!”

R: “Actually do you guys refrain from acting in kissing scenes?”

K: “When we accept the role, we would know in advance about the kissing scenes required in the script. Since we have already accepted the job on our own accord then we must accept the roles. If the plot requires us to do these, we will do so. I feel that if kissing scenes are necessary for the roles, then I will perform them lor, it’s okay for me!”

B: “Yes ah, we don’t think so much after we get into our positions for filming.”

Prefers winning rave reviews of their performances than winning an award

R: “Do you guys feel that you will win an award based on your drama, Lives of Omission«????»?”

B: “Kate would definitely win an award. Yes, I said that!”

K: “Yes ah, then in that case, it would be winning your award for top three actresses who are best to kiss lor!”

B: “Talking about the truth now, to me, an award is nothing much to me, I don’t care about it but of course I would be happy if it was awarded to me lah!”

R: “The neighborhoods even said that you acted way better than Laughing-Gor Michael Tse (???)?”

B: “I’m just relying and depending on Michael! I feel that we each have our own acting strengths. I don’t know ah! I have always felt that winning an award is nothing much because maybe it’s only because the role is very popular with the masses. I would rather have people praising me. When this drama came out, very good public appraisals were received! They praised that I acted well and had improved. All those made me felt much more happy than receiving an award.”

R: “What do you feel about Kate’s acting performance then?”

B: “Kate really gave a liberating acting performance. I felt very comfortable partnering with her to act in dramas because Kate’s personality is really easy-going, anything will do for her, she would not be hung up over her image as a pretty girl or that she used to be a ex Miss HK winner…there’s nothing like that coming from her. Acting is just purely acting, Kate has no emotional or psychological baggage restraining her. Thus I felt that it was comfortable partnering with her. I even saw that she kept improving, the more she acted, the more natural she was in front of the camera. Even when we were shooting the opening scene, I could feel that she has her own thinking. In a nutshell, I strongly support Kate Tsui to win the award!”

R: “Kate, what do you think about Bosco then?”

K: “Bosco and I have known each other for quite some time now. I feel that having audiences who identifies with your efforts is much more significant than winning an award. I remember that on the first day of filming, everyone wanted to come up with something fresh and new. In the end, it was our combination that brought something different to everyone. If only there was an award for “Most Improved Onscreen Couple”, I feel that we will have a high chance of getting it lor! We really put so much effort into our roles.”

B: “Yes, even though many people placed more emphasis into our kissing scenes, but if they were attentive enough, they would notice that the kisses in the opening episodes, middle episodes and the final episodes were all different and each carried a different meaning.”

The intersection between love and hatred is overpowering

K: “We used plenty of efforts into building up the relationship between these two characters, Cripple Co. and Paris. Just like what Bosco had mentioned earlier, I acted very liberally but there was definitely a need for this. Bosco is one good partner. Since there is a new award almost every year, can they add on some new award to encourage him (Bosco)?”

R: “Michael Tse’s Laughing-Gor and Fala Chen‘s (???) Madam Jo are after all the main centralized couple in this series, will you guys feel pressurized in this case?”

B: “Our characters’ romance and their characters’ romance were remotely different. Even before we started filming, it was already decided that their character’s romance would be traditional and conventional while our characters’ romance would be a abnormal one.”

K: “Our main focus was to come up with something unconventional, something new. In the past drama series, very little had scenes as intense as ours, which was such a loving, hating and agitating romance.”

B: (Adding on to Kate’s words) “Not to forget our strong and “heavily flavored” dialogues. We would have to say things like “I’m calling a prostitute” and “I’m feeling unhappy because my “aunt flow” is here”, those kind of dialogues.”

K: “Yes ah, we will also use our might to slap, smack and box each other, totally jumping out of the television’s boundary.

Epilogue: There’s mustache but not much, so?

Kissing someone out of no reason, when you have no physical attraction to him or when you are not acting with him, is indeed really tough.

On the day of the interview, the photographer requested Bosco to kiss Kate for a photo. Initially, the duo immediately agreed but just as everything was set and ready and awaiting for their kiss, Kate suddenly backed out and said, “I think it’s not good for us to kiss!” (Reporter: Why?) “Bosco’s growing a mustache again! (Kate meant Bosco still had stubbles of hair above his lips)”

Upon hearing this, everyone immediately went silent and a cloud of dead air filled the scene. Well, guess only one person in TVB City or even in the entire world, can kiss Bosco anytime and anywhere and that is none other than “her”.

Bosco Wong does not avoid supporting Myolie Wu for TV Queen

Bosco Wong, Michael Tse and Kate Tsui's Lives of Omission has been critically acclaimed. Friday's finale broadcast peaked at 40 points, making it the highest rated series so far this year. Yesterday the cast celebrated the success together. Fala Chen is currently busy shooting a series, thus absent from the event.

TVB executive Virgina Lok talked a lot about the TV Queen battle this year. It was said Stephen Chan supports Fala to become the Big Sister and take this year's TV Queen title. Miss Lok expressed TVB promotes FaDans on a 'step by step' basis, but she does not deny Fala recently has that Big Sister style and if she does win TV Queen, she (Virgina Lok) will be happy too. However, Miss Lok denied the decision has already been made internally.

As for Bosco, he openly expressed his strong support for his 'girlfriend' (Myolie Wu). He smiled and said he has to support her no matter what. When asked if he supports Fala more or Myolie? He said: "I personally support Myolie, really want her to win and honestly speaking she does work very hard." Bosco said he watched the clips of his 'girlfriend' at the Venice Film Festival and complained her evening dress for the red carpet was not sexy enough. Bosco said: "She bought me red wine, that cheap girl, there's so much leather there and she didn't buy of it."

Kate was happy to find out the ratings peaked at the scene where she was in tears reading 'Bai Co' last letter to her. When speaking of who she has in mind for TV Queen, Kate reveals she supports her good buddy Myolie. Kate laughed and said Bosco has been busy shooting lately, thus lessen her opportunities to make some extra money with her partner. She joked she's just sticking by Laughing (Michael Tse) , but Michael was too into character and gave Kate a lemon. He said: "I have recently been partnering up with Madam Jo more to make the money. It's a little weird taking Kate along, feels like I'm stealing Bai Co's girlfriend." Asked if he dislikes Kate? Michael said: "I never said that, just following the sponsor's requests." Michael does not mind the 9 point difference between the average and peak ratings. He said: "That is not important, I care more about the reactions, myTV had 6.4 million clicks."

Also, Myolie accepted Eileen Cha's radio interview yesterday and when speaking of her trip to Venice, she expressed she had limited time and couldn't get a souvenir for Bosco. Meanwhile at this event, Bosco said he received red wine from her, looks like there are some differences in the two's statements.

Cheung Wah Biu won’t be returning to TVB, plans for "Rosy Business 3" scrapped

Recently, TVB had been in talks with ‘golden’ scriptwriter Cheung Wah Biu about him returning to TVB in October and collaborating with producer Lee Tim Sing as well as TV King and Queen Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang for a third installment of hit series "Rosy Business". However, it has just been confirmed that Cheung Wah Biu was personally invited to stay at his current position (working for Next TV in Taiwan) by media mogul (and Next Media’s owner) Jimmy Lai – therefore, Cheung Wah Biu has decided to stick with his current job and will no longer return to TVB. Upon hearing the news, "Rosy Business" stars Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang expressed completely opposite reactions: Wayne was disappointed at not being able to collaborate with Cheung Wah Biu once again, whereas Sheren was thankful that she does not have to choose between the "War and Beauty" and "Rosy Business" sequels.

TVB has been planning its ‘grand production’ film projects for the coming year – in addition to filming the sequel to "War and Beauty" starting in February, TVB was also planning on filming another sequel to "Rosy Business" starting in April in anticipation of that series’ ‘golden’ scriptwriter Cheung Wah Biu’s imminent return to TVB. The intention was to reassemble the original cast of "Rosy Business" for another installment of the popular series in the hopes of once again gaining good results. However, at the same time, a dilemma also existed, as the 2 central characters in both series – Concubine Yu (from "War and Beauty") and Sister Gau (from "RB2: No Regrets") – were both played by Sheren Tang. This presented a huge problem in terms of scheduling, as Sheren not only has plans to participate in a movie around that time, it would also be difficult for her to carry 2 grand productions at the same time, since the filming schedules for both series would overlap – this meant that Sheren would have been left with no choice but to pick one of the series and give up the other.

Earlier on, "Rosy Business" scriptwriter Cheung Wah Biu – who had left TVB last year and went to Taiwan to work for the fledgling Next TV – had indicated that he was not able to adapt to life in Taiwan and missed his wife and children in HK; therefore, TVB’s management execs were trying to persuade him to return to TVB. However, in a surprising turn of events, it has been reported that Next TV’s boss Jimmy Lai did not want to let talent go, so he personally spoke to Cheung Wah Biu and made concessions to let him return to HK and write his scripts from there. On Wednesday (September 7th HK time), during a phone interview, Cheung Wah Biu confirmed that he will be staying with Next TV: “Previously, I had thought about returning to TVB, but over here [Next TV in Taiwan], they don’t want me to leave. Actually, the reason I had wanted to leave [Next TV] earlier was only because I couldn’t get used to living in Taiwan, but now that they are allowing me to write my scripts from HK, then I will stay. In terms of TVB, it shouldn’t matter, as they have a lot of scriptwriters of their own. As for Wayne and Tim Gor – yes, we are definitely very compatible and in fact we keep in touch with each other consistently. Hopefully, we will get the chance to collaborate again in the future!” In response to the reports that Cheung Wah Biu won’t be returning, TVB’s ‘golden’ producer Lee Tim Sing (Tim Gor) could not help being disappointed: “Aiye! Wah Biu not returning, makes it harder to reassemble the original cast, as the whole premise of RB3 is to use the same cast and create a new story around them. Currently, I’m working on the script for my new series "??" [loosely translated as “Stairway to Heaven”], which will start filming in April 2012, so no time to think about the "Rosy Business" issue right now.”

A happy situation comes to nothing

Previously, when Wayne Lai heard that Cheung Wah Biu would be returning to TVB, he was ecstatic at having the opportunity to collaborate with Wah Biu and Tim Gor again. Our reporter caught up with Wayne as he was filming for his new series "King Maker" -- Wayne expressed that he has already been in communication with Cheung Wah Biu and upon confirming the report, expressed that he was very disappointed: “It was already 90% confirmed [that Cheung Wah Biu would return to TVB], but I heard that the other side [Next TV] just received its television broadcast license, so they don’t want to let him [Wah Biu] go. For me, it’s definitely a ‘happy situation coming to nothing’ – I’ve collaborated with Wah Biu for many years and it has always been a very happy collaboration. From a work perspective, he knows what types of characters suit me best and is always able to play to my strengths – it’s to the point that we can easily collaborate and don’t need time to ‘warm up’. On a personal level, we are also quite compatible – even during the time that he was away, we continued to stay in touch via SMS. But I guess everything is dependent on fate – I’m already satisfied that I had the chance to collaborate with Wah Biu and Tim Gor for so long and each time being a happy collaboration. I can only hope that we will have the chance to collaborate again in the future.” With regard to rumors that Wayne has a chance to win the TV King award for a 3rd straight year due to GM Stephen Chan’s ‘return’ to power, Wayne responded: “That has nothing to do with it! Stephen is someone I respect and admire a lot, as he definitely has a lot of talent, however the reality is that all my interactions with him have been work-related only – on a personal level, I’ve never had dinner with him and definitely never had ‘secret’ communications with him. In fact, I’m the type who does not like to socialize and prefers going home after work. I don’t belong to any particular party or clique.”

Sheren Tang: Please don’t make me choose!

Wayne Lai may be disappointed with the lost opportunity to collaborate with Cheung Wah Biu again, however his co-star Sheren Tang has a completely opposite reaction to the news. Laughing, she responded: “Not disappointed at all! It’s actually better [for me] if Wah Biu returns later than anticipated. Both series ("War and Beauty" and "Rosy Business") are equally great series and I love both characters that I portrayed – please don’t make me choose between the two! After waiting so long for a sequel to "War and Beauty" and with Wah Biu returning at the same time, both series could end up conflicting in terms of schedule – if I had to give up one over the other, it would definitely be very disappointing and such a shame! I feel that God has his way of arranging things in a manner that works out best. Encountering a good script is like a encountering a good man – it will come to you at the most appropriate time.” (But both Tim Gor and Wayne are disappointed?) “We as humans may propose certain plans, but it’s up to God to bring them to fruition. I believe that God has his plans – perhaps Wah Biu will come back later during a time when it is better suited!” (If both series were to rely heavily on your character to ‘carry’ the series, how would you choose?) “This entire time, I only received notification from the company [TVB] that they would like me to film the "War and Beauty" sequel – I have not received any invitation from Tim Gor yet.” (But what about the reports that Sheren had decided on filming "Rosy Business 3" because the series had helped her win 2 TV Queen awards?) Sheren responded: “Can’t the people who made up those rumors be more creative? Even though I still need to consider my schedule and look at the script, it doesn’t make sense that I wouldn’t want to film such a classic, highly anticipated series! In fact, I’m taking this opportunity very seriously – when considering scripts for other series, I’m trying not to accept any Qing palace themed ones, as I don’t want there to be repetition.”
