Nicholas Tse & Cecilia Cheung happily together for Family Day

It has been a year since Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung separated, but to maintain a warm family for their kids, Nic and Cecilia often meet up and spend time together. Yesterday the two met up once again with Quintas for Lucas' parents day at school.

Yesterday the international school that Lucas is attending held a parents day and therefore allowed the ex-couple to briefly 'reconcile'. The family of four were spotted together! Yesterday at noon, Nicholas drove the 7-seater van to Cecilia's residence, picked her and his two sons up and the family went straight to school. When the family arrived at the school, Nic was dressed casually and when he saw reporters, he kindly greeted them.

Nic reveals Lucas really wants him and Cecilia to get back together. Yesterday at the parents day, it was the best opportunity, Lucas became his parents' little middleman. Although Cecilia and Nic often get together after the divorce, this is the first time the media got a family photo since the divorce announcement! Nic was initially walking Lucas into the school, but suddenly turned around and politely asked reporters if he could borrow the camera and long lenses: "Initially I wanted the camera on my iPhone, but it's too far. I want to record video of my son's performance." It was understood, Lucas was arranged to do a singing performance, and he didn't disappoint his parents' expectations. He had an extremely active performance, often cleverly glanced at his parents and little brother sitting in the audience. It looks like Lucas really does have talent in performing arts!

After about an hour, Nic and Cecilia left the school. Nic took advantage of the time he has with his son and carried Lucas to the car. The 'little middleman' Lucas was in a pretty good mood seeing how successful he was to get his parents together. He often smiled for the cameras. Cecilia carried Quintus the whole time, and since she rushed back to HK for this event, it was diffcult to hide her expressionless look even though the shades. The family of four got back into the van and went home.

Lo Hoi Pang: Female Champion is casual

The Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actor Lo Hoi Pang two nights ago celebrated with his fellow ENJOY YOURSELF TONIGHT alumni.  Attendees included Ng Lai Chu, Mak King Ting, Yu Mo Lin, Liu On Lai, Liu Kai Chi and Chan Man Yi, Felix Wong Yat Wa and Leung Kit Wa.  Brother Pang's often co-star Meg Lam Kin Ming even brought two bottles of red wine to congratulate him.

Brother Pang after winning the award earlier immediately returned to Zhuhai for Johnnie To Kei Fung's new film.  At the time To Sir already treated him to dinner.  After that Brother Pang also celebrated with his family.  His grandson even played with the award at his home.  As for everyone calling him the light of EYT, Brother Pang humbly said, "No, Chi Jai won it a long time ago.  However we are the artist training class' five most famous, including Chow Yun Fat, Ng Man Tat, (Ringo) Lam Lan Tung, Ng Yun Chuen and me.  The earlier ones all won awards already.  Ng Yun Chuen went behind the scene, leaving only me.  I thought I had no chance left, but then they gave it to me too.  (After the award do you have more film offers?)  It's always been around the same, the problem is whether I want to or not.  I just want to have a little fun.  (Will you get a raise?)  Don't say that, what would the raise be for?  How much can it go up?  However some outside the film industry like READERS' DIGEST dragged me to present awards, and more people ask me for interviews."

Brother Pang on the award night said that he would visit Best Supporting Actress So Hung Suen but so far he still has not have the time.  Sister Suen reportedly lost a toe to diabetes, Brother Pang said, "She didn't pay attention to her diabetes!  I have had diabetes since 1987 but I know to keep an eye on myself, I don't dare to eat much rice.  All along I was able to control the condition, otherwise I might have complications that would be hard to handle.  Several of my friends got 'nailed' that way."  He said, a long time ago he saw Sister Suen at a film promotion.  At the time she was already very thin and had no energy when she spoke.  However he did not know whether she had diabetes or another illness.  Brother Pang said, "Don't think you would be fine just because you are vegetarian."  Aside from controlling his condition with medication he also watched his diet.  No matter how delicious the food was he would only have a little more than half a bowl of rice.

In addition, a magazine caught Brother Pang with a woman.  He asked, "Is she really a woman!  (You were caught going to a coffee shop?)  No.  Sometimes viewers would come over.  This stuff is very casual, even
so it wouldn't stir up too many waves!"

A friend of Jacqueline Law Wai Guen, Liu On Lai said about Sister Guen's condition, "She is great, she is fine.  (She was rumored to be hospitalized?)  She has always been in and out of the hospitals because she needed scheduled appointments.  I don't know why such rumors would surface.  (Did Sister Guen mind?)  I don't know if she minds or not but as a friend hearing such information I would be worried.  However she is
amazing, very positive.  For anyone with a religious belief they can pray for her."

Liu On Lai also praised Brother Pang as the light of EYT.  Although she rarely acted anymore, if she had a chance she would like to again because she would be very happy at work.

AngelaBaby blames bad takes on her bad kissing

The Angelababy and Mark Chao (Chiu Yau Ting) starred romantic tear jerker FIRST TIME's music video KEEP SMILING OK? premiered.  Two leads under the Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun) created song had seven bad takes to complete a kiss scene.  After completing this seaside loving kiss even Baby joked with Chiu Yau Ting, "Did you pay off the director?"

Baby said, "Although it was a kiss scene, it was a very innocent kiss.  However such a simple looking scene took seven takes.  This kiss scene was even our first scene of the shoot, so before the shoot I was a little nervous.  However I never thought to kiss Chiu Yau Ting seven times before meeting the director's demand, ha!  Actually our kissing was so poor."  Chiu Yau Ting before the shoot was fully prepared as he brought a toothbrush.  He said, "Actually the shoot was a little embarrassing, but as a man I should be even more magnamious.  I have to let myself go, then Baby would be more relaxed."

In the music video Chiu Yau Ting and Baby's romantic scenes took the lead, with many seaside biking, playing at an amusement park, dancing in an alley, drifting snow scenes.  Baby's gentle singing that was full of
emotions brought viewers into the visuals and the film as everyone tasted the first love perfection together.  Jay Chou and Vincent Fang Wen-shan tailored this theme song for Angelababy.

Charlie Yeung's old look surprises Aaron Kwok

Aaron Kwok Fu Sing in the film FLOATING CITY (FAU SING) played Tanka.  Because he was unwilling to spend his life on a fishing boat like the generations before him and had no idea when he would return from taking a risk at sea, he finally decided to try his luck on shore and changed his fate.  Yet he went too fast while his wife Charlie Yeung Choi Nei remained where she was.  The distance between them grew further as
Annie Liu (Lau Sum Yau) appeared around him.  Choi Nei played the role from her 20s to her 60s, Sing Sing thought Choi Nei's biggest sacrifice was making her skin darker and rougher.  At first glimpse even he was surprised.

Sing Sing said that not only director Yim Ho was demanding but also the most difficult was speaking Tanka.  Although he had a translator on the set, digesting on the spot was hard.  Long dialogue along with emotional performance was truly very hard to handle, luckily they got through it without too many bad takes as he met his own demands.  As for playing an old character, Sing Sing revealed that the make up was not deliberately exaggerated.  It was an spiritual old.  The most successful was the scene in which he and Choi Nei were at their oldest.

Choi Nei said that back then women at sea all listened to their men and silently supported their husbands.  Her character was even deaf.  Sing Sing joked, "Take a look at me and you know, every time when you ask something that is unrelated I become deaf -- intermittent hearing loss."  Choi Nei continued that in order to experience hearing loss for awhile she wore ear plugs.  At her most exaggerated she even wore them outside and on a flight.  Originally she would get frustrated when she could not hear the volume and did not want to speak.  She became lonely and was only willing to live in her own world.  Thus she experienced how old people felt when their hearing deteriorated.  She was sympathetic and her heart ached.

Choi Nei caught attention after working on an ad with Sing Sing and got into the business.  Earlier they worked together on AFTER THIS OUR EXILE (FU JI).  Years later, Choi Nei thought Sing Sing was more mature than before but still was able to maintain his childlike innocence.  In particular he had a lot of fun with the crew.  For such a sunny person to play a character who was tangled in pain, she understood why Sing Sing chose to be a happy person off screen.  She said that she seemed to be flipping through Sing Sing's diary.  Has she flipped through his love diary?  She said that when Sing Sing wanted her to she would.

The film's subject was very similar to the overseas award winning ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW (SHUI YUET SUN TAU).  Did they want the film to win as well?  Sing Sing said that an actor could only help the director fulfill one of the drams.  This time the story background was memories of the colonial era to introduce to a new generation that Hong Kong was just a fishing harbor back then and how times changed.  He said, "My character isn't a biological son, but (the film) is about how the biological mother isn't as great as the adoptive mother.  The film will open on Mother's Day, a perfect salute to the respected mothers."

Chik Mei Chun helps Stephen Chow's start

Chik Mei Chun recently appeared on a cable program and discussed her artist training class days.  She also appreciated running into her benefactor Ng Yu who approached her about a variety program; Ah Chik after graduation very quickly had a chance to play the female lead, but she remembered once when she was an "extra".

Ah Chik recalled, "Back then for THE SHELL GAME (CHIN WONG JI WONG), in one scene I played Fat Gor (Chow Yun Fat)'s secretary and had no line.  That day the notice was for 9AM.  I went to the dressing room on time for make up and hair, then I sat and waited there until 3AM!"  At the time she was still new, of course she did not dare to make any noise.  Even when she ate she did not dare to take too long as she was afraid that they could not find her.  Finally even the lady at the dressing room could not help but ask the drama team for her, only then did they discover that she waited for an entire day.  Soon she finally took her mark.  Ah Chik also praised Fat Gor for being quite a gentleman, an elder who took great care of his junior colleague.

Ah Chik even revealed that she lived in the same neighborhood as Stephen Chow Sing Chi and Tony Leung Chiu Wai, their enrollment in the artist training class was also related to her.  Ah Chik said, "I was the first one to apply.  They saw how happy I was with it and I asked them to apply as well."  She said that Sing Yeh has liked kung fu since he was little and had quite a sense of humor.  At first when the artist training class's instructor Lau Fong Kong was hesitating about accepting Sing Yeh, Ah Chik spoke on his behalf and pointed out all of Sing Yeh's positive points to him.  Finally the instructor accepted him.  Later when Sing Yeh found out he thanked her.  However she felt that his success today was completely due to his own abilities.

Edwin Siu rises to popularity on TV, embraces the singing dream again

Back then when Edwin Siu was a singer, he had pretty good development, but because of one comment, his popularity hit rock bottom, but did not give up. Four years ago, he decided to sign a contract with TVB and start completely over. In the recent months, his popularity has been on the rise again. Following Forensic Heroes III, he participated in Daddy Good Deeds and now the current Gloves Come Off. In these series, he has played important roles, from good to evil to comedic roles, he has done it all and can snag the Most Improved Award any second!

Earlier Edwin's role as Ah Yap in Daddy Good Deeds had stirred up lots of feedback, especially his old-fashioned performance of the song The Distant Her in the series, got Netizens going wild. Rarely in comedy series, this really gave Edwin lots of encouragement: "I just couldn't believe people praised my Gags so much. Someone told me they haven't laughed so much from a series in a long time, that was what made me most happy! (Unfolded your 'comedic cells'?) I don't know! But I added a lot into the role, the more old-fashioned it is, the better!" Edwin claimed he loves being funny and his personality is similar to Ah Yap. "I like to make the people around me happy, I am the leisure team leader, responsible to lighten up the atmosphere!"

As for the opportunity to sing Daddy Good Deed's theme song (Never Been Mindful), Edwin directly expressed he was very happy when he heard the unexpected news and he was able to re-live the feeling of being a singer: "It's been so many years since I've sang a Cantonese song, really miss it! Before I didn't understand the meaning, but now I have more life experiences. (Sign with a record label?) Not at the moment. I will focus on increasing my impact in series first, but I do hope I can still sing too!"

Once the camera changes, Edwin goes from the upbeat sunshine boy from Daddy Good Deeds to an rough manic in Gloves Come Off. There is great room to display his acting skills: "I play Selena Li's first lover, but then after an accident my personal nature changed completely. I would beat her and there was one scene where I throw the wheelchair at her!" Also in his upcoming two series The Last Steep Aliment and The Confidant, Edwin plays the big villain. No wonder Edwin expressed this is a prosperous year for him.

Joey Yung says Lady Gaga's "Love HK for Counterfeit Goods" gives HK a bad image

Yesterday Joey Yung attended the OSIM event Joey Yung and The Most Beautiful Mothers Gathering. Joey awarded 'The Most Beautiful Mother Certificate' to 20 mothers. As Mother's Day is around the corner, Joey has not had time to pick out a gift for her mother, but plans to renovate her entire home.

Lady Gaga expressed on Twitter that she loves Hong Kong because she can exercise while shopping for counterfeit handbags all on one street. This resulted in a visit from the Customs for interrogation. Joey feels Gaga's comment negatively affects Hong Kong's image. She said Gaga is a celebrity and a public figure with so many fans, every word she says is very influential. Joey thinks Gaga didn't carefully think of the reaction before saying something like that. Lady Gaga disclosed at her concert that the 'Customs interrogation' comment was just a joke in response to the Twitter comments. In regards to this, Joey expressed: "She said it was a joke, then it's a joke! She still shouldn't make irresponsible remarks. If she has so much money to buy 'A Products' (counterfeit products), then I believe she's just too playful!" Although lately Joey has been busy recording in HK, she attended Lady Gaga's concert in Australia earlier, but this time she does not have plans to support her concert again. Will she give Lady Gaga's style a try? Joey frankly expressed Gaga's bold image is not her cup of tea: "The beauty I pursue is not boldness. I really do admire her music, but may not necessarily follow her style."

[NEWS] Girls’ Generation Featured in LA Times Article ‘K-Pop Enters American Pop Consciousness’

Girls’ Generation, alongside several other K-pop artists, were recently mentioned in an LA Times article covering the expansion and growth of the K-pop scene in the United States.

The article began by covering Girls’ Generation’s performance of the “The Boys” on “Late Show with David Letterman”. The author commented that the group pulled off a look that wouldn’t be out of place at a “goth cocktail party”, but praised the performance and song as something “new yet uncannily familiar on the American pop scene”. Tiffany’s reaction upon learning they’d be performing on the show was also humorously recounted.

The writer went on to note that Girls’ Generation is “arguably the biggest name in…Korean pop music culture”, and that the group and K-Pop as a whole have won over fans of various nationalities with ” techno, hip-hop, R&B and top-40 [sounds]” and “singles [that] are often focused vehicles for elaborate music videos and rarely less than bonkers good fun.”

Further, he noted that “Gee” essentially “transformed the country’s role in the Asian pop landscape”, and elaborated on its success with the MV’s 70 million hits on YouTube and how Girls’ Generation became “the first non-Japanese Asian girl group to top Japan’s singles charts.”

Regarding their American expansion, the author noted the gradual increase of performances in the US, including last year’s SMTOWN Live in New York, as an indication of how far the genre has come since the days when it was only accessible by social media networks. Being able to connect with their fanbase abroad is especially important for idols born in the US like Tiffany, who said, “There were so many more opportunities in K-Pop for a young Asian-American singer. It took some adjusting to move there [Korea] in my teen years. But fans respected that this group wasn’t put together overnight, it took a lot of practice to learn our different values and strengths.”

Lastly, the difficulties regarding the lack of an American “hub” were noted, as the US lacks a music show line-up like those present in Korea, and how artists like 2NE1, the Wonder Girls, and Girls’ Generation themselves are finding ways around this. The Madison Square Garden concert was again highlighted as a big step forward, and the piece concluded with a hopeful reflection from Tiffany: “Coming back to America to pursue music is a dream. Not just because it’s America, but because this is just the beginning.”

Ella Koon's brother Jamis suspected to eat dogs, Netizens furious

Since youth, Ella Koon has always been a dog lover. Over the past several years, Ella has had over 20 dogs as pets in her house, but it turns out her elder brother (Jamis Koon Chung Ming) not only ate dog meat in Shenyang last month, but also showed off with a photo on Weibo. Yesterday Ella expressed she doesn't believe her brother would eat dog meat.

Cats and dogs are not only pets, they are also a close friends to humans. It's a pity people in Mainland are still continuously murdering these animals and eating them. As a dog lover herself, Ella's brother Jamis Koon uploaded a photo of a table food of dog meat dishes and even expressed to his friends all over: "Dog meat is delicious."

Reporters discovered two related photos on Jamis' Weibo, both photos were uploaded on March 11th. The first was a photo of the 'Shenyang Dog Meat Shop' and the second one was a whole 'Dog Meat Feast'. It was seen there was a total of 9 dishes on the table. Netizens saw the sight of this and painfully criticized: "Why do you have to eat dogs? How could you eat such cute animals? There should be a law that prohibits the killing of dogs." were also some people that directly criticized that Jamis has no mercy, but Jamis himself has not responded.

The 33 year old Jamis Koon was actually a graduate of the TVB 12th Acting Class in 1998. Catherine Chau and Jenny Koon were his classmates. He entered the industry earlier than his sister Ella, but later Jamis left the entertainment circle to follow his father in doing business. What's ironic is Jamis has a pet dog in his Hong Kong home, and once uploaded a photo of his beloved dog. He said: "I have a black dog, his name is 'Sat Kill'." Also, he often uploads photos of him with good friends rebuilding the big Buddha in Mainland. On one hand he's oriented towards Buddha, but on the other hand, he's a dog killer. Such self-contradictory.

Yesterday reporters contacted his sister Ella Koon over the phone. When asked if she knows her brother showed off his 'Dog Eating Feast' with a photo on Weibo? She said: "I didn't know. I have been busy shooting series recently and haven't really had the chance to see my family muuch. Also, he's always not in HK, I'm not too sure what he's up to." As for her brother eating dog meat? Ella said: "I have to get an understanding first. We love dogs, and have been raising dogs since youth until now."

Ella said she currently owns 3 dogs at home. Sat Kill is a stray dog that her brother brought home. When asked if she believes her brother would eat dog meat? She said: "From what I know of my brother, I don't think so. Perhaps he just took a photo of it. (Are you afraid it might be the truth?) Of course I"m afraid to hear this, but I don't quite believe it because we started raising dogs since we hit puberty and we are people who cannot be separated with dogs."

The President of the HK's Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (HKSPCA) strongly denounced Jamis for eating dogs: "I believe eating dogs is very sick, very inhumane, ridiculous because they are our friends. Dog owners clearly understand dogs are very loyal to humans. I just think if you can still eat dogs, that is just really ridiculous, don't even deserve to be a human being. Some people in Mainland still eat dogs, you have to go against these traditional food cultures, must have legislation. Because just us dog lovers alone protesting, they will be asking why can you eat chicken, pigs or cows then? Why can't we eat dogs or cats? So, I just feel to avoid conflicts, the best is to simply have legislation. We at HKSPCA have been doing this all along, assisting in drafting a legislation and hope to make it into a law soon." Furthermore, the President continues: "I feel people who eat dogs have a serious character issue. We aren't in a war or famine right now, there is no excuse to eat dogs. That is sick, I hate them."

----------------

Jamis Koon responds today on Weibo regarding the dog eating issue:

I absolutely do not support eating dogs, nor was that photo intended to encourage people to eat dogs! On the contrary, I am very amazed that there really is indeed an all dog meat store in Mainland! I am a dog lover myself, and have probably had over 20 dogs since youth until now. I definitely will not eat dogs and I hope others won't end the innocent dog lives.

Eddie Kwan forces himself to fall in love with Moses Chan

Moses Chan and Eddie Kwan were rehearsing a Kunqu Chinese Opera scene for TVB new series Beauty At War. The two big men play 'Dai Lo Gun' and 'Fa Dan' respectively and will have to learn the proper hand gestures and how to make charming glances at one another. Moses and Eddie both feel its difficult because one movement could take about 3-4 months to master.

Eddie joked in the play within the series, he will have convince himself that he has fallen in love with Moses. He said: "After all, I am slightly resistant to being feminine, but I have paid more attention to eye expressions in females. (Then that means you're on 'imperial orders' to check out girls?) You can say that." Moses said just learning the pronunciations alone takes some time. When speaking of him losing quite a bit of weight, Moses said: "I deliberately lost 10-20 pounds because of this series, but just now the instructor bought us chicken thighs, and I had 3!" Eddie said he will reduce starchy foods in his diet because he believes the Fa Dans in the Qing period are thinner and that would look better.

Grace Wong's 'throws out her chest' in a rape scene resulting in complaints

TVB costume series House of Harmony & Vengeance premiered on April 30th. In the series, Grace Wong had a scene where she gets raped and revealed half of her chest. A large group of Netizens were shocked to see such scene, and plus the series is airing during family viewing hours, so there will probably be complaints.

TVB series and shows are often getting complaints. Earlier Samantha Ko appeared in a sexy outfit while playing a drifting game on Battle of the Senses received 5 complaints due to the 'flinging breasts' on-screen. On Monday night, it was Grace's turn as she was seen as 'Dai Ho Sau' (her role) in the new series House of Harmony & Vengeance airing at the 8:30pm time slot. Not long after the episode started, the plot was about Grace doing a dance performance and attracted the local magistrate's son (played by Dia Yiu Ming) attention. He said he'll deliver the dance costumes and lured her into the room and forced her on the bed. The scene implied that she was raped. While she was struggling to escape, Grace revealed half of her chest, which was very sexy. Once Netizens saw that scene, they were very surprised and couldn't believe that there was that kind of sexiness in a costume drama. One Netizen praised Grace's nice body figure, while others said the scene was not suitable for family viewing hours. Looks like there will be complaints by the parents.

Producer Nelson Cheung said: "The story sets in the Tang dynasty, the costumes are often low-cut. Also, it was a raping scene, so the artists were just into character and didn't care too much. It was solely for the plot and was no intention to sell the sex appeal. From here on out, there will be some other sexy scenes, for example with Linda Chung. I hope viewers will continue to watch and support."

Aside from Grace Wong's sexy scene becoming a hot topic, some Netizens calls the 'local magistrate' into question, wondering why such official appeared in the Tang dynasty because that government rank only came about in the Song dynasty. Netizens criticized TVB for not doing enough research.

After winning a Hong Kong Film Award Jun received a text message from Lam Yik Lin and they congratulated each other.  Yik Lin has never won this award before.  He thought Yik Lin was an alternative artist.  He also praised Yik Lin.  "Her voice is known to be beautiful.  She is a beautiful person, attentive and considerate.  She is very classical and elegant."  As for their rumor, Jun only said that Yik Lin is a beautiful woman.  Earlier when Yik Lin went on tour he could not go due to schedule conflicts.  Yik Lin asked him later whether he did not like her songs.  Jun said, "Yik Lin's songs are evergreen, once on tour some fans would cry after hearing her song.  I was affected too."

ANNIE LIU AND JULIAN CHEUNG GET PASSIONATE FOR NEW FILM

Linah Matsuoka

Annie Liu (Lau Sum Yau), Julian Cheung Chi Lam, director Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum), Kathy Tang, Linah Matsuoka two nights ago attended the film trailer premiere of their film NATURAL BORN LOVERS (TIN SUN OI CHING KONG).

Chi Lam in the film played a dessert chef, everyone played a cake decoration game with the audience.  Sum Yau was very afraid of white liquid and Chi Lam immediately picked up a cake filled with cream to play a prank on her, Sum Yau could not run out fast enough.  After the game, the winner could reprise the poster pose with Sum Yau and Chi Lam.  However the bashful Sum Yau was somewhat embarrassed.  Chi Lam on the other hand graciously held the female viewer's hand.

In the trailer, Sum Yau and Chi Lam had a passionate kiss scene.  Chi Lam revealed that was a tip of an iceberg.  They had even more passionate scene.  When asked how passionate, Sum Yau only revealed that she had her share of bed scenes.  Chi Lam said, "This time we shot many times.  (Wasn't that good for you?)  It's just acting.  However, the director very curiously asked us if we needed to brush our teeth and cultivate emotions.  I said couples in general don't brush their teeth before kissing!"  Sum Yau said that she was a little nervous when they tested their marks because the set had many workers.  Did Chi Lam prohibit
his son from watching his kiss scene?  Chi Lam believed that his son would understand.  If he really kissed, he would explain that it was necessary for work.

In addition, Sum Yau was very afraid of white liquid.  She said that when she was little milk made her nauseous.  She would not even drink milk.  Chi Lam said that Sum Yau was professional because in one scene he had to feed her cake.  At the time he saw Sum Yau feeling sick as she ate but she still insisted on completing the shoot.  Chi Lam also said, "I understand that everyone has some obstacles, I have claustrophobia.  I can't lie in a coffin or a crowded elevator.  I admire people who can conquer their obstacles."
