62-year-old businessman Lau Ding Sing was involved in the Police Officer Nude Photo Scandal in 1995. 17 years later, he gets into trouble again because he took 'nude' photos of police officers and male artists. He was charged with sexual harassment, intimidation and several others. On Monday the court ruled he was guilty for these charges.
Lau accepted [East Week] interview, exposing the reason why he's so indulged with the handsome police officers and built male artists. He reveals the secret to making the numerous men willing to take nude photos in front of the camera.
[East Week] did a background check on him and uncovers his grandfather is actually the 'Guangzhou's Gambler King' (Fok Chi Ting) and that he came from a family of Macau casino tycoons. Lau's father had a wide range of businesses, in which he inherited and probably where his 100 million assets came from.
Lau:
"To me, placing the men in front of the cameras is like a beauty contest." Lau describes the 35 men are all 'contestants' that he chose to be in the 'contest'. Of the 35 men, 21 of them are police officers, the highest position is chief inspector, Ng Lok Chun. It was understood, Ng appeared topless with shorts in the photos.
Lau continued:
"Ng Sir has the brains and the looks. He's rare!" The Ng sir that Lau describes is married and once worked in the OCTB department. He took part in the investigation of 2008's infamous MongKok Police Station Rape case. He currently works at the Kowloon East Region police station and his handsome looks is famous in the police force.
Lau said:
"I met Ng Sir in Happy Valley in 2006. At the time, we were neighbors. Since we had mutual appreciation, we became friends and very naturally I invited him to my house to take pictures for memories. Then he moved and we lost contact." Aside from the list of police officers, the remaining 14 men were all from the entertainment industry. Some are known second or third line TV actors. Most of them either participated in Mr. Hong Kong or used to be models. Among the 12 contestants in 2007's Mr. Hong Kong, half of them were on the scandal's list.
Lau expressed:
"There is no way 'Large Chest Him' (Him Law) doesn't know me. After I met him in 2007 through TVB artist Sammy Shum, we had tea a few times. He later came to my house to take pictures with casual clothing on. He also kept asking if there are any clothing sponsors. Later, he often sent me movie tickets in his company's envelopes and on the bottom of the letters, it says from 'Him'." Lau felt this is nothing bad, so there is no reason he has to hide it.
TV series When Heaven Burn's 'Ka Ming', played by Stanley Cheung is an ideal lover to many fan girls. However, in Lau's eyes, he is not mainstream.
"I had dinner with 'Ka Ming' once and then he came to my house to take common everyday life pictures. I've never thought how rebuff he could be. He kept asking me this and that, and didn't know how to pose. I was annoyed, so even before we finished, I told him to leave." However, Stanley said that day, he noticed Lau was very unprofessional as he used a regular digital camera for the pictures and also he had weird eye expressions, so he quickly left.
