Kate Tsui likes Smart Men, Ready to Retire After Marriage

Kate Tsui entered the industry in 2004 after being crowned Miss Hong Kong and has been in a number of series since. In 2007, she debuted on the big screen and won the Best New Performer Award at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards for her role in Johnny To's Eye in the Sky. She also has pretty good 'peach blossom luck' as she was rumored with several male artists like Ron Ng, Joe Ma and Kenneth Ma. It turns out she only has feelings for smart men outside of showbiz, and intends to retire after marriage!

Best Way to Get Along is to have Same Taste

If you meet your Mr. Right will you go for a lightning marriage?

Kate: "This is an interesting concept, but I never thought about what I'll do when I get married. When I was teenager, I told my mother I'm not getting married because I didn't know what the purpose was. I'm not saying I'm resisting marriage, but it's just I haven't met someone that really matches and that I feel I could be with.

Just now I mentioned I won't find a boyfriend in this industry, it's not because I met an incompatible partner before and won't like people in showbiz again, rather I just don't like to be in the same work environment as my boyfriend. It's just like a couple working in the same office, don't really know what to do. In a relationship, a pair should have lots of topics to talk about. If you and him are working in the same office and know the same people, then topics narrow.

If we end up being in a series together as the lead actor and actress, then I cannot accept that. I want to keep work and private life separate. Kiss scenes are inevitable in acting, if my future boyfriend minds, then he should tell me, but after marriage I won't be working and will probably retire. I have this idea, but my thoughts usually never come true, haha. Perhaps I won't be able to retire. We never know what's going to happen next year, so just leave it to fate. Deliberately trying to plan will do you no good."

Longs for a True Love Romance Series

Kate started off as a Miss HK, and has played many different roles in TVB series, including a policewoman, lawyer, wealthy lady and more, you can say she has high flexibility. Today, she hopes be in a simple romantic story, bringing out a 'true love' side of her.

Kate: "This year my big work plans are to actively shoot series. All the series I've completely previously all broadcast around the same time and I'm afraid I won't have anything this year. So even with all my efforts, there will just be one series that will release. I've done films in between and have always been working in both the TV and film industry. However, this year I have no plans to release a music album, just focused on acting. Actually, I'm always doing different things, this year I want to do more series on romance, those true love types of stories. I have previously done too many hardcore roles like being a policewoman and boring the audience. Fans complain too, they all think I'm grown up, and can start doing other type of roles now, so I want to be part in a simple romantic series. Recently I've been shooting Highs and Lows, my role was initially a bar tender, but after several twists and turns, I end up in drug trafficking. She's a character that stops at rock bottom. In acting, I don't have times where I can't get out of the negative emotions. It's just if it was a rainy day, then I would feel sad. I'm a person that really needs sunshine!"

No Energy to Play with Young Men

There has previously been several actors rumored with Kate, but it turns out she really opposes dating someone in the industry. She believes a couple working in the same industry, then there would be less topics between them and lose the sparks. Kate longs for her future other half to be someone outside of the industry and she hopes he'll be able to teach her lots of things. She admits, at this moment, she really wants to be in a relationship!

Kate: "Being in this industry, must have a peach blossom. 'Audience fate' is a type of peach blossom too. Dating or not, leave it to fate. I'm actually pretty desperate to date myself because I feel it's about the time I should be in a relationship. A lot of my female juniors and seniors are getting married and having children, I'm really happy for them, but also audience nowadays are more accepting to artists finding their other half. They have a very open mind. Humans are humans, should have a balanced life and dating is just a part of life. At this stage in life, I do have pursuers, but I have to look clearly first. My pursuers are people outside of this industry, I don't like people in showbiz. That's boring. We're all in this industry, it's hard to match our schedules, for example, you're shooting in the morning, and I'm shooting at night. The times can't be regulated, it's hard to accommodate. The main point is, I hope my other half can teach me things. If we are both in the same profession, we see the world the same way and that's just not good enough.

I didn't say I especially like men from a specific profession, the key is to have common hobbies and taste. It would be the best if he's handsome, and looks smart, a clever guy and can communicate with me. He should be older than me too. I'm not saying how much older he has to be because I never dated someone over 10 years older than me, so I don't know if that works. But, I think it shouldn't be too big of an issue. Among my ex-boyfriends, the oldest one is only a few years older than me. We were only together because we had the same taste. If the age gap is too big, that's not going to work; if he's younger than me, he'll probably be always playing, I don't have the energy to play with him. Should I go down to the park with him to kick ball? Haha. Those in their 20s do those things, so the boyfriend I choose should be close in age, personality and taste with me. That's how we have common topics."

A Sexy Goddess? Thanks to Mom

A lot of men think Kate is the 'Sexy Goddess', but she did not dare to admit.

Kate: "Sexy is just a feeling. It's just other people calling me sexy. My definition of sexy is like this, people think I am, I won't be annoyed. I cannot control others' impressions. I don't know if its an innate quality, but my mom thinks its strange, why would her daughter be sexy? Haha, because she always saw me as a clear and bright little girl. She can't associate me with the word sexy. You think I'm sexy, I could only thank my mom. In fact, my standard of sexy is if other girls see a girl to have the sexy appeal or let me put it this way, this is very natural. You feel someone is very attractive, but that may not necessarily be in the eyes or mouth, it could be the personality or speech."

Epilogue: Charisma Attracts Rumors

Females who have a gentle voice, a foolish feeling and a sweet appearance had always been attractive to the opposite sex. However, during this interview, Kate was very straightforward, answered questions quickly and had quick reactions. She is no way a gentle and sweet girl. Why does she attract so many rumors then? Turns out, when Kate take pictures, she can immediately put away the tomboy side of her and display a sharp eye expression. Then she can pose in the most feminine way. This just proves straightforward and clever girls, just as long as they put out their feminine side at the right time, they can still attract men.

Roger Kwok Rely on a Stiff Concrete Role: Reach Another Peak in Career

As a notable TV King, there are no doubts in Roger Kwok's acting. He currently hopes to reach another peak in his career, but how could he make a breakthrough? He will have to make a change.

ROGER: "Many people have asked me if I've reached the highest peak in my acting career? In fact, I think I could reach another peak, but I may not necessarily have to rely on comedies, but rather a very concrete and strong character, just like Last One Standing or Wax and Wane. Looking back at my achievements, I actually feel quite indifferent on awards. In this industry, the words 'deserved' is not just given to you because of awards, but actually through the eyes of the audience. I know how much effort I put into something, and I'm not trying to wait for luck to come. Back then, when I got the TV King award, indeed I gained a lot more fame, jobs and income. Thereafter, I consistently had more jobs and every series great reaction. Even today, people are still giving me jobs for stage performances and commercials, so I do believe awards help in the career, but in the long-term, it all comes down to yourself and how much effort you put into the work.

I can say I've been with TVB the longest. Although I did leave for 3 years, but I eventually came back. It's not that TVB employees aren't hardworking, just that the Hong Kong market is small. The well-being just can't be compared to foreign countries, at least there's a labor union to support newcomers. I heard they are paid based on how many words they have to say. Fala Chen has told me before, we don't even know how much a freelance actor that has lines in the US is paid. But, we can't blame this on TVB, the market is just too small. How can they split one cookie with 3,000 employees. You want the bigger share and want to eat more, then you have to count on your own hard work!

There are people each year that have asked me to 'leave' [TVB], and there has been a lot more recently. Even Ricky Wong has approached me. I told him I still have some years left in my contract with TVB and don't want him to waste time on me. I'm not fussing, no one knows the future and I just don't want to waste people's time, but I'm very happy to have met this friend. I entered the TVB big family when I was 22 years old and have developed a relationship with all the directors, producers and even the makeup artists. Money can't buy these relationships. At the moment, I never thought of leaving, unless TVB doesn't want me anymore or perhaps TVB stops shooting series!

Epilogue: True Nature, Zero Hiding

In reality, Roger Kwok definitely doesn't personify 'Ah Wong'. He speaks clearly, concisely and doesn't beat about the bush. He is natural, direct and doesn't conceal anything. When speaking of his family, he unexpectedly revealed a very blessed expression; When speaking of his bitter times and a significant person that has helped him in life, he took a moment and really thought about it. He got very emotional when thinking back and slight redness was forming in his eyes. What we can be certain is that Roger Kwok is a person who has rich relationships.

Sharon Chan filming nonstop, a long wait before she can have children

Sharon Chan, Sammy Leung, Patrick Tang and Otto Chan were busy shooting for TVB new series Justice Pursuit & Attack. In the series, the four are police officers and were shooting a funeral scene honoring the death of their fellow colleague at Wo Hop Shek Cemetery. It was sunny and hot that day, but they still had to be in all black suits and dark shades, and could only wipe away their sweat in slow motion. During the breaks, Sharon took out an umbrella for shade and a fan to cool herself down.

Busy shooting nonstop, Sharon was sick for a period of time, but still handled the action scenes with no problem. When reporters mentioned many of her good friends are having babies, Sharon insisted she must have one too, but for now, work comes first: "I'm in a stable relationship now and may get married at any time. But I must wait for good health to have a baby, for now I haven't had time to maintain my health." Sammy made huge sacrifices for his first TV series, as he turned down several jobs and losing 6 figures due to his busy schedule. Fortunately the producer's enthusiasm has sparked his interest in acting. He expressed: "For the next time, I really want to do something like Man of Wisdom, can be unpaid too!"

Concert Tour once again breaks records – Jacky Cheung to release 3D concert DVD

The Jacky Cheung ½ Century World Tour Concert «???1/2?????»recently held its finale performance in Hong Kong. The concert tour started back in December 2010 and a year and half later, in May 2012, it [came] to a close with a final count of 146 shows – which breaks the record for total number of [world tour] concert shows performed by a HK singer. Last year, in April 2011, Jacky had held ‘part 1’ of the Hong Kong leg of his tour at the HK Coliseum; this year (May 2012), ‘part 2’ was held at the Asia Expo Center – a venue that allowed for a wider stage, more far-reaching views, and better lighting effects. For the finale shows, Jacky invested a lot of effort and thought into the process – in a few months time, he will be achieving another ‘first’ amongst HK singers: he will be the first artist to release a concert DVD completely in 3D.

The name ‘Jacky Cheung’ itself is already a ‘beautiful voice, beautiful songs’ guarantee, however this time around, Jacky took his concert to new heights by incorporating elements that would allow audiences attending the concert to enjoy the best visual effects possible: a huge high-definition [HD] LED screen, multi-colored laser lights, a transparent glass stage, a heavy weight specially tailored outfit made of crystal beads, etc. For the anticipated release of the concert DVD, Jacky wanted the concert to be filmed using the highest level quality method possible – other than the usual HD and Blueray, what other option was there? After a little thought, an idea suddenly came to him – with the recent trend of many Hollywood grand productions being filmed in 3D, why not apply that same concept to his concert? With that thought, Jacky decided that he wanted to release a 3D concert DVD.

Filming in 3D is actually 4 to 5 times more expensive than filming in regular 2D mode – a 70 person filming crew had to be hired and from an equipment perspective, filming required 3 times the number of cameras that would normally be used. In addition, cameras had to be installed in various places throughout the arena in order to capture the performances from multiple angles. With everything that had to be done, filming only the very last show was virtually impossible – therefore, filming had to take place over the course of 3 shows, with the equipment running for 3 nights straight. The production was definitely taken very seriously.

Our [Mingpao’s] reporter watched the 138th show (a lucky number), which was one of the shows where the special filming took place. That night, a gigantic HD camera was set up in the arena’s control tower and each time concert producer Florence Chan (???) had to leave or enter the area, she had to bend over slightly when walking in front of the camera so as not to block its view. She expressed: “A few nights ago, we watched some of the 3D trial footage of the concert and it truly did feel as though things were flying out at us from the screen! Definitely a very three-dimensional feeling.”

As soon as Jacky expressed his desire to film in 3D, Florence Chan immediately set the preparations in motion. Knowing that each shot would be very clear and crisp, which meant that even one speck of dirt would be captured by the cameras, Mrs. Chan had to arrange for an entirely new set to be made for the stage, with each crevice [of the set] carefully lacquered and polished to perfection. Even Jacky’s concert outfits had to be newly made, as there were quite a few heavy dance numbers scheduled throughout the show -- since Jacky usually sweats a lot during these performances, an additional 3 sets of the same-style outfits were made so that he could change into brand new outfits each night that filming took place. Mrs. Chan expressed: “With each white-colored outfit, we were afraid that even a speck of powder [from the makeup] on the collar would be visible!”

Due to all 10 of the finale shows being completely sold out, concert organizers specially added an additional section of seating in the hopes of reaching audiences who were not able to buy tickets earlier. These $200 HKD seats are on a slightly slanted incline on both sides of the stage and the view is partially obstructed majority of the time, however each time Jacky walks onto the suspension bridges on both sides to perform, the distance to him is especially close – definitely something for the fans purchasing these tickets to consider!

Fala Chen promotes for her first song plug "Half"

Fala Chen just completed shooting a series in Mainland and came back to Hong Kong. Yesterday afternoon, she arrived at Metro Radio for an interview and to promote for her first plug Half (??). Fala is preparing to release her debut album this summer, and to accompany the fast songs in her new album, she'll be turning herself into a 'mo lui' (female dancer). She said: "This week I'm going to shoot the MV and the cover shoot. Most likely I'll have the pretty girl image. In fact, I can go down the Rock and stylish path too. Also, I'm expecting dance arrangements because I have a few fast songs. As for playing with sex appeal, I don't think so! Because sexy doesn't really fit the feel of my new song. I still don't know who the male lead in my MV will be, but I don't want my boyfriend's help. Just leave it to my company to make the arrangements." Fala reveals her new song Half is about a lonely girl without her other half. In reality Fala, who already has a boyfriend (Sit Sai Hang), was it difficult for her to get into the feeling of the song, she smiled sweetly and said: "I'm an actress! It's just like acting, have to get into character and the emotions." Asked if her boyfriend heard her new song yet? Fala said: "Besides the music producer who has heard the song, my boyfriend hasn't heard my new song yet, so he can't comment on it."

Fala Chen messes up on Live singing, nervous and tears up

Fala Chen, William Chan and Sherman Chung were recording on JSG last night. Fala appeared in a back-revealing long dress: "Because this is my first time on JSG as a singer, and I have to perform live, so I'm treating this as a grand occasion. (Nervous?) Yes, so I practiced the song several times."

Fala frankly expressed it's quite a challenge for her to perform Cantonese songs and high notes. When she was recording, she got off-key the first two tries and couldn't reach the high notes. Although Fala barely got it on the third try, the executive at her record company wanted perfection, and asked her to record the song another time. Later, Fala explained: "I was a little nervous singing live for the first time. While I was singing, I got too into the song. I thought of the lonely feeling conveyed in the song, and the tears just came out! (Are you satisfied with your performance?) OK la! (How would you score yourself?) I don't know! There aren't any scores on JSG." Did her boyfriend give her any advice? Fala said: "Nobody has heard the new song. It is important that I rely on practicing the song myself and not on getting advice from others. If I wanted to ask, I would ask my teacher, producer or boss for professional advice."

Fala's debut album is scheduled to release in July, when asked if she knows her 'sister-in-law' Marie Zhuge is also releasing an album? She coldly said: "I haven't heard, ok!" When asked again if she's afraid of the competition? She generously responded: "Why would that be? There are so few singers in the HK music industry nowadays, I hope the industry will flourish with healthy competition." She also said she's not afraid that the public will compare her to Marie: "It's enough to do my best on my own part."

For his new song Empress, William Chan actively worked out for the MV: "There’s not much clothing on me! But because of all the recent Lau Ding Sing news, my initial costume was dropped, it's a pity." When asked how sexy his costume was? He laughed: "There's just two straps on the upper part of my body, accompanied by semi-transparent leggings."

Kenny Wong: An exquisite plot, Moses Chan's inner heart conveyed through 5 characters

(Left to Right: Steven Ho, Glen Lee, Rachel Kan, Kenny Wong, Dia Yiu Ming)

In TVB series Master of Play, there are five strange and weird demons who revolve around Moses - Kenny Wong, Rachel Kan, Glen Lee, Steven Ho and Dia Yiu Ming. The Housewives were all clueless when they first watched the series, but it turns out the five characters each represent evil, lust, treacherous, violence and conscience in Moses' demonic heart.

'Evil' - Kenny Wong
Kenny said the storyline was kept secret because they wanted to spark audiences' interest. In the past, the main character's innermost feelings were all conveyed through their thoughts, but this time five characters are used to convey Moses' inner world. It was said Master of Play is a reflection of Sean Lau's film Mad Detective? Kenny said he believes the film may have been an inspiration during the production process, or perhaps the series is related to another film Fight Club, but television is different than movies. TV series describes the story in detail and have careful arrangement.

'Lust' - Rachel Kan
Rachel used several foreign actresses as a reference for her role, in hope to put out the best feminine feeling. She laughed and said if her role wasn’t disliked by audience, then that's considered lucky. There will be even more lustful scenes in the series later. Although she’s seen with other demons in the series, but actually she only has Moses.

'Treacherous' - Glen Lee
Glen said producer Jonathan Chik initially didn't tell him that his role was a demon. After he found out, he started reading many books to reference. During the filming process, Glen got too into character and often displayed the dark side of him, frightening his wife.

'Violence' - Steven Ho
While shooting, Steven ends up losing his voice and injuring his waist. As he has many topless scenes, the producer told him not to relax his muscles and he has to work out daily to keep fit. Results, he ends up injuring himself and had to rest for over two weeks.

'Conscience' - Dia Yiu Ming
Dia is a crucial character. He was murdered shortly after the series started, but later comes back to life and stops Moses from committing crimes. He said: "It’s touching Moses’ heart, but it's hard to be a good person. I’m only able to roam behind him trying to convince him to stop doing harmful things.

Film footage and some behind the scene videos were in the music video. Cho Ming's intense and hilarious expressions were very close to his father Jackie Chan's and he had potential for comedy. Cho Ming said that this time he could create the theme song for the movie and work with good actors like Big Brother Chang Fei, Xia Yu, and Chen Han-Tien, the chance was truly rare. He admitted that he never thought about taking the baton from his father. They each had their own style. He wanted to do his best the most.

Aimee Chan reveals on Weibo that she passed out while shooting for new series Love Exceeding the Coastline at the TVB City studio yesterday.

Yesterday she said over the phone, "I'm ok now. The doctor said I may have been too exhausted and I haven't fully recovered from my flu yet. (Did you get hurt when you passed out?) Luckily no. When I was feeling dizzy, I sat down and then went to the medical treatment room. I felt it wasn't anything serious, so I went home to rest. (Boyfriend Moses Chan worried?) Good friends are all worried, that's why I posted on Weibo to let them know I'm fine."

Roger Kwok: I Don't Have Hopes for Son to Success in Life

[The Sun] exclusive interview with Roger Kwok on his experiences of being a father:

My wife Cindy Au and I tied the knot in 2006, and had our first child, Brad Kwok in 2008. In 2011, we went for another girl, Blair Kwok. I became a father at age 43, and within my plans of having children, I do have worries of when I'm old, there may be a generation gap between my children and I. My parents were already gone (passed away) when I got married and never got to witness my marriage, I feel some regret. Now that I'm a parent myself and have such a large generation gap with my children, I would think when they get married in the future, will I still be around? If my son gets married late, I really can't live for another 40 years!

I have 5 brothers and 3 sisters, since youth my father was out making a living and my mother was a housewife. My elder brothers and sisters took care of me the most, so I lacked childhood education that I could use as a model for my children. I have to create my own model on educating my children. I'm not really an autocratic, I don't think everything needs to be distinguished between black and white. To act according to convention can actually create the generation gap. I see my children as friends, parents should not be strict, I advocate for no social class.

After my oldest son Brad was born, my life changed a lot. At first, I was really scared! Before he was born, I was already mentally prepared, but in reality, everything differed tremendously from what I had expected. It was then, I truly felt that I had stepped into another stage in life! I thought I could face it with ease, but turns out that I couldn't do it! My deepest memory was when Brad was around 7 or 8 months old, one night he had a high fever, my wife and I were so freaked out we didn't know what to do. He was crying nonstop and didn't know how to talk, so we quickly sent him to the hospital. At the time, I was thinking a baby that young, why does he have to suffer such torment? He also had nose allergies, one time his eyes were swollen as big as chicken eggs. I could feel he was really scared himself. Fortunately my wife and I are both Christians, and believe that parents shouldn't be the ones to blame for their children falling ill. We mutually encouraged one another to leave our son with God.

I changed diapers and gave them baths. In the future, when they get married, I have handy pictures to prove that their parents have contributed for them. They must continue the tradition and treat their children the same way. I don't long for my children to succeed in life, just hope they grow up healthy. We didn't choose a famous school for them to go to nor is it necessary to move homes to accommodate them. The kindergarten had about 2,000 children registering, and during the interview, my son cleverly gave the teacher a kiss. Brad is very cute, and really displays the true side of a child. On the first day of school, he was crying like the world was ending, but on the second day, he didn't cry at all and went into the classroom himself. Then on the third day, he was crying again, but it turns out he thought he only had to go to school for two days!

I have had quarrels with my wife because of our children, but the most important is that when we both calmed down, we were able to resolve the issues. I often take Brad to school and pick him up myself, hoping to spend as much time as I can with him through his growth. I don't want him to be a Hong Kong child! He's very clever now, he knows how to put on his own shirt, pants and socks. I accompany him in and out because I'm afraid he may rely too much on the domestic worker, I want to train him to do things himself. Earlier there were kidnapper rumors which had troubled me, but luckily, the reason was possibly due to a misunderstanding in a family dispute and it's not considered a societal issue! [Before] I was so worried I couldn't sleep, I stayed up late at night to read what people are saying online. We were very worried, but I didn't tell my son about the kidnapper, I don't want him to know there are so many bad people in the world.

'Master of Play' loses 20K viewers and ratings dropped in the second week

TVB series Master of Play produced by the creators of When Heaven Burns Jonathan Chik and Chow Yuk Ming had already stirred up controversies even before its broadcast. There were nearly 100 complaints on the premiere week and that did not help the ratings at all. On the second week, the ratings dropped to 24 points, losing about 20,000 of the housewife audience. (The premiere week averaged at 27 points)

Initially both Master of Play (MOP) and When Heaven Burns (WHB) were suspected to have implications to the Tianamen Incident of 1989 (June 4th Incident), but TVB denied. Yesterday morning, writer Chow Yuk Ming expressed on Weibo that the ending scene, 'balance through space', was an implication of his feelings on the June 4th Incident. However, a part of his Weibo entry got 'river-crabbed' (censored) by Weibo administrators.

When MOP first started broadcasting, there were already several murder, suicide and terrifying bloody scenes, which was disturbing to audience. On the first week, the Broadcasting Authority received a total of 92 complaints, and TVB received 11 complaints. Although not much happened during the second week, the BA still received 13 complaints, and the ratings rapidly dropped 3 points compared to last week. Many family audience criticized that the complicated storyline is hard to understand. However, there are also a large group of supporters as well, expressing the depth of the storyline is worth pondering over and that Adam Cheng's performance is outstanding.

Yesterday on Weibo, Chow Yuk Ming revealed the meaning to WHB's final scene. What the final scene conveyed is the message of "What If", bringing out his feelings towards the June 4th Incident. Chow wrote: "The meaning to WHB's finale scene is 'What If'... If that night, the authorities chose to forgive and opened up, then perhaps today there would be less national per capita income, but I believe we'll be mentally richer; Perhaps there is a lack of aircraft carriers, but I believe there would be higher international status; Perhaps we would eat less, but I believe we would be eating more peacefully; Perhaps children lack advanced technologies to play with, but inevitably have longer life... all this, is the 'what ifs' I have on that night."

Chow had another part in his Weibo entry, but it got 'river-crabbed': "The gossips in history is often a frail matter, simply too easy to bury, modify and forget. Please everyone remember this, must grasp the future, we need more understanding of the past. Tonight Mainland Weibo friends, I truly hope you all can see this paragraph of mines." A Netizen told Chow to wait until MOP finish broadcasting before commenting, otherwise the series may get banned again. He denounced the Netizen's ignorance.

Master of Play's Tragic Death Couple Matt Yeung & Iva Law gains recognition

Bloody murderous TV series Master of Play has been named "TVB's Most Flavorful Production in History". Although last week, the series lost the housewives audience, resulting in a 3 point rating drop down to 24 points, still there are Netizens supporting the series. Aside from the two attractive main leads Adam Cheng and Moses Chan, senior police inspector played by Matt Yeung and Iva Law, appearing in only two episodes as the sexy undercover, both caught Netizens attention as well.

Matt Yeung and Iva Law play a couple in the series; both have been in the industry for over 10 years. When Matt first debuted, he was fortunate that TVB heavily promoted him, but unfortunately back then he didn't cherish the opportunity and even became the first TVB artist in history that had to repeat the Artistes Training Class. The most miserable was when he had no income for six months and practically lived on seeds.

Retakes the TVB Artistes Training Class

31 year old Matt Yeung entered the industry 14 years ago, but all along, he only had minor roles. Last year in TVB sitcom Be Home For Dinner, Matt's role as Tin Hoi got him on the rise again, and he finally gets recognition in his latest series Master of Play (MOP). In fact, Matt graduated from the 1998 TVB Artiste Training Class, the same year as Raymond Lam and Tavia Yeung. Soon after, Matt rose to popularity when he portrayed a role intimating Nicholas Tse in Screen Play and was heavily promoted by TVB. Unfortunately, back then he didn't know how to cherish, always went for late night partying at the nightclubs and got in trouble with the law. TVB had to set him aside before he could wake up and start behaving.

In 2005, his career was almost game over when he was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and criminal damage. This time, he had the rare opportunity to portray the serious senior police inspector in MOP and make a breakthrough. Matt said: "Initially when Ah Chik (producer Jonathan Chik) came to me, I was afraid I couldn't do it, and there was no script, each day it was all last minute scripts, so I was really nervous. Before, I didn't know how to cherish my opportunities, I liked to play and cause trouble. Five years ago, I even became the first TVB artist in history to repeat the Artistes Training Class. In between, I actually wanted to give up as I had absolutely no jobs during that period. I was hopeless for 6 months."

If Matt didn't want to go homeless, then he really had to find something to do, but unfortunately he failed. Matt continued: "That time I tried to save up and start a business, a clothing store. Once I had time, I would go stock up on merchandise and do everything myself, but the store only lasted for a short period. I couldn't handle the business, so I had to close it down. I then tried selling mitten crabs in Jordan, but that only lasted for a season (3 months). At the time, I didn't know what to do anymore, one day I looked at myself in the mirror, and couldn't help but say to myself, 'You hell boy, misbehaved and wasted all your opportunties.' All along it was due to Catherine Tsang giving me all the opportunities that I was able to continue acting!"

Today, Matt knows better and is well-behaved. Last year, he announced on Weibo that he plans to marry his girlfriend (Joanna) at the end of the year. The couple have been dating for over two years.

Iva Law - Sexy Undercover Marries German Boyfriend

Iva Law entered TVB 12 years ago, and had only been playing naughty young girls or prosititutes. This time in Master of Play, she plays an undercover cop. Although she only appears in two episodes, she still grabbed attention by her sexy short skirt and long legs. She 'poisoned' all the guys, as they watched the scene before her death over and over again. It turns out this sexy undercover already married her German I.T boyfriend last year. Iva said: "Although I have thought of giving up, but it is not because of what roles I get, rather it is safer to be an all-round artist. So, in 2006 I studied makeup in Japan to increase my value and came back realizing that I really do like acting. Luckily TVB let me come back. (Does your husband mind that you get so sexy on-screen?) Haha...I just do it first every time, then I tell him afterwards. If I tell him beforehand, he definitely won't allow it! My husband owns an I.T company, not considered wealthy, but I don't have to worry about the finances. Acting is realy just my hobby!" In 2003, Iva sparked love after collaborating with Lawrence Ng, 15 years her senior, but unfortantely the relationship only lasted for about a year before ending in a break up.

Liu Xiaoqing makes a comeback for free

The Dennis Chan Kwok Sun directed, Liu Xiaoqing, Charlie Yeung Choi Nei and child star Lin Miaoke starred film 37 will open June 1. Earlier the film held a premiere press conference in Beijing. Liu Xiaoqing revealed for the first time her secret of playing a Mongolian mother. Yeung Choi Nei due to work was unable to attend but shared her experience over the phone. After a long time away from film, Liu Xiaoqing said that she performed in this film without any salary. The director was very touched. When she first met with Lin Miaoke the impression was also particularly good.

Liu Xiaoqing mentioned that on the set she and Miaoke sympathized with each other because they both had allergy. However, in order to make this movie good, everyone worked very hard despite the difficulty. In the film Liu Xiaoqing not only shaved her eyebrows, wore a mouth piece and dark make up but also sang original a Mongolian song. Chan Kwok Sun revealed that Liu Xiaoqing not only personally performed the singing but also did not go to a recording studio, as she performed live on the plains.

Earlier, Liu Xiaoqing's subversive look in the film was unveiled. Everyone said that this look truly was pleasant surprise. Liu Xiaoqing joked that it was both unexpected and expected. What attracted her to make another comeback? Liu Xiaoqing said that 37 was a good script that she has been waiting for after so many years. When she first received the script she was very nervous. It was the biggest challenge in character creation in the last 20 years, but such a challenge was both exciting and meaningful.

Angelababy hopes her proposal will be more romantic

The film FIRST TIME yesterday promoted in Shanghai. Director Han Yan attended with Angelababy, Mark Chao (Chiu Yau Ting), Jiang Shan, Chao Shu-Hai, Cindy Yen (Yuen Wing Lam) and others. At the event director Han Yan proposed to his girlfriend with a paper ring and made a solemn promise, which moved Angelababy and Yuen Wing Lam to tears. Angelababy also said that her future propose had to be even more romantic.

Han Yan yesterday stated on stage that he saw his lover off stage and heard Chiu Yau Ting's singing, which seemed to deliberately enabled him to complete this task on this day. He nervously stammered, "Dear, we both miss each other's first time, but we have our first time. With your company, after several collapses only with your support behind me I was able to make this film. I now know how I should love you, how I should love you with love as pure as the first time. You have always been worried about all the temptations that all my jobs now, but I promise you, the temptations have nothing to do with me. In my heart there is only you."

Han Yan made a origami ring and said, "Today I didn't prepare anything. Over these two years my movies haven't made any money, but I now feel the ring is unimportant. I believe we will have a future, that the film will perform well, I wish the film will be a big hit although now I have nothing." His girlfriend was already moved to tears. Han Yau lovingly knelt and said to his girlfriend, "Will you marry me?" The tearfully girlfriend nodded and said, "I will."

Angelababy and Yuen Wing Lam were moved to tears when they saw this scene. Seeing the director's successful proposal, they all gave congratulatory hugs. Angelababy lamented that her proposal will be even more romantic than the directors. In addition, Chiu Yau Ting not only sang the theme song but also had particularly many crying scene in the film. He became the film's "King of Crying Scene". Chiu Yau Ting very rapidly got into character every time in the film, but too many crying scenes disturbed him a little as he was afraid that everyone would ask why this man loved to cry. Easily touched in real life, Chiu Yau Ting still remembered the character's emotions when he recorded the theme song. At every recording he would be moved to tears as he felt like his wounds were ripped out. When he watched the film Chiu Yau Ting was still crying. He even joked, "I even cried shamelessly."

Never claiming to be romantic, Chiu Yau Ting said that this time he learned many romantic tricks from the director. He thought that the most romantic thing that he has ever done was a candlelit dinner at home. Angeleababy said, "Actually you are so romantic!" Baby and Chiu Yau Ting jumped right into a kiss scene on their first day. Baby said that luckily they shot it early, later they had chemistry.

'Flower King' Bobby Au-Yeung: Jessica Hsuan is the meanest co-star!

Bobby Au Yeung has been acting for 30 years and been in numerous series. He has entertained an unlimited number of audience over the years and is the audiences' "Happy Fruit". Although his body figure is 'growing' every day, but the FaDans he co-stars with are getting young and younger. Lately, his youngest co-star is Linda Chung, who is 23 years his junior, that honestly makes people jealous.

BOBBY: I've been in a countless number of series and have paired up with many different FaDans, and they're even getting younger and younger too. Indeed, people envy me, but what's interesting is I never had a rumor. Perhaps everyone knows I had a girlfriend all along, then after I got married, I had a wife. Also I have a good record, so the female artists that collaborate with me can always relax.

When speaking of my youngest co-star, you can say she's Linda Chung in the latest series House of Harmony and Vengeance. Although our age gap is huge, there is no generation gap between us at all. Perhaps she matured early, whereas I matured late. Linda is a very gentle, but playful little girl and because of this we had a pleasant collaboration. Just like the bed scene we had, it was about her moaning while taking off her clothes after being drugged. Before the shoot, she asked me how she should approach the scene. Linda has never been drunk before, so she didn't know how to do the moaning. I taught her to scream the word "two" in Mandarin, but unexpectedly she sounded pretty good screaming that "two" and we completed the scene in one take.

Aside from Linda, I don't know why the female artists I work with, are all mean women. Perhaps I'm too naughty, and if not mean enough, I can't be tamed!

Jessica Hsuan - No One Dares to Touch her Chair

The meanest is definitely Jessica Hsuan. I have the guts to say that it is all because Jessica can joke the most. She is so mean, the whole industry knows. When we were shooting A Pillow Case of Mystery II, each artist had their own work chair, for the sake of convenience. After work, we leave the chair at a public area in TVB City, and on the next day anyone can just take the chairs to use. My work chair is fairly new and clean, but one time I didn't have to work for a week, and didn't want others to use my chair, Jessica suggested: "You write my name on it, no one will dare touch it!" I wrote Jessica's name on a piece of paper and drew a skull with cross bones below it. Results, when the week went by, the chair really was left untouched. Touch Jessica Hsuan's chair? You really haven't died before! Haha...

Let me give Jessica some justice, she's actually not mean. She's just someone who has a lot of principles. She will absolutely not let others borrow her chair because she believes the chair is a very personal article. If you want a chair, bring one yourself. Well, she's not wrong at all.

So Wet No Bra To Wear

Jessica is really a playful person. When I was shooting A Recipe from the Heart, there was one scene where John Tang and I had to use a cup of water to wake up the passed out Jessica. I suggested we put water in our mouths and then spray it on Jessica to wake her up, that's how cravings are satisfied! Jessica didn't have a problem with that, and I thought to myself since she's so quick and easy, I'll take it to the max. First I'll chase her around spraying her with the cup of water, then hide a bucket of water under the sofa. Jessica saw something was wrong and avoided the 'trap', but I still dumped the bucket of water on her back. She was completely soaked and the outcome of that scene turned out really good. Jessica was not upset at all, she just told me off when we got to the costume room: "You should have told me earlier that you were gonna dump the water on me, I didn't bring an extra 'Ba Ba' (bra). What am I going to do now that I'm all wet!" Only Jessica can be that playful, we are like a family. We don't get upset after playing.

Esther Kwan "Explodes the Room"

In fact, what I really want to do is find a boyfriend for Jessica. Unfortunately all the men around me are married. I told her to wait and see which one of them divorces. Many people apparently think Jessica is a dog lover, so any who's a dog lover like herself will be right for her, but she shocked everyone. Even her ex-boyfriend, the South African veterinarian (Ruan), couldn't handle her. I think only a lion tamer can handle her, tame her with a lash!

The second meanest is Esther Kwan. She really can't take any jokes, only Nick Cheung can deal with her, everyone else are just going to die if they tried. When we were shooting Legendary of the Four Aces, one time she had a scene with Nick. At the time they were already living together, Nick told her to go back to TVB City to do her hair first, then he'll go later. When Esther finished setting her hair, the PA (assistant director) suddenly said Nick got sick and passed out. I saw Esther rush out to get her car, at the time she didn't know what was going on and only saw Nick at the studio later that evening. She said you know how big of a mess I was in this morning? Esther was so upset she rushed back home, kicked the bedroom door loudly, and yanked the covers off, at the time it was cold weather too, Esther shouted: "Sei Lo (bad man), you can even prank me!" It's really like wow that can happen? They are a match from heaven, no one can replace them.

Yoyo Mung very open testing the kiss

In my theory, [my] mouth and face on the side, it looks like salted pancakes all piled together. What's so great about kiss scenes? You think it's Michael Tao? He has a taller nose, a sharper chin and better skin, his side face kiss scenes are pretty good to watch. I saw his kiss scenes with Flora Chan and Jessica Hsuan, it really looks smooth and free. When it was my turn to shoot a drunken kiss scene with Ada Choi in Armed Reaction 3, we completed the scene first by a kiss on the cheek, then the forehead and then finally a hug. All you have to do is display the feelings, there is no need for an intense kiss. Even the director couldn't refute.

But, later I had another kiss scene with Yoyo Mung. It was only then that I learned kiss scenes could be rehearsed! That time, we were at Tsim Sha Tsui shooting a kiss scene on the busy streets. Before we started shooting, I was so nervous, I walked back and forth, drinking water and eating gum. Yoyo came over to provoke me, "What? You really nervous? Got bad breath? You're eating so much gum. Seeing you so scared, there's not many people around now, want to give it a try?" You can rehearse a kiss scene too? Usually, I don't rehearse these scenes, only when we actually start shooting, I do the kiss. Fine! I gave it a try, she kissed me, and asked me if it felt good. I said it's good. She even asked me if I wanted to try another time? Usually after completing the scene, the actor would act like a gentleman and thank the actress. To my surprise, after we finished, I said thanks, but she says thank you back to me. What girl would say that? She's just unbelievable!

Later when I was shooting House, Yoyo saw me at the makeup room and said: "Hey! It's so miserable being a woman, you were just kissing me before, and now a few years later, you get to pair up with Myolie Wu and Linda Chung." I purposely said, "Yup, in the next few years you'll be my stepmother!" Just to upset her.

Jessica and Yoyo shares their Bobby stories

Jessica: "I had a kiss scene with Bobby one time, and before the shoot, he circled the director 10 times. He was constantly trying to convince the director to cancel the scene, but in the end the director did actually cancel it. I saw Bobby going in circles, it was just so funny. I haven't turned my back on him yet and he's not willing to kiss me."

Yoyo praised Bobby as a good partner and with him around, she has never been bored on the set. One time Bobby found her car keys and planned to prank her with it. When they were getting off work in the middle of the night, he insisted that he'll accompany her to her car. He thought she'll freak out when she can't find her keys, but little did he know, Yoyo was calm and pulled out her keys right out of her pocket. Bobby was startled and took out the keys he picked up, "Then who's keys are these?" It turns out, before when Yoyo was filming with Alex Fong, he would hide her keys to prevent her from leaving early. Since then, Yoyo always carried spare keys to work. Couldn't believe she pranked Bobby back with it that time, she laughed: "I really have to thank Alex Fong!"

Miss Hong Kong 2012's 29 Contestants Meets the Press

This year for Miss Hong Kong 2012, TVB plans to do a large-scale knock out competition, suspected similar to American TV show Amercia's Next Top Model. The knock-out competition will use harsh styles to provoke the 29 contestants, any one of them could be eliminated at any time.

Yesterday the 29 contestants formally met the press. #3 Yeung Si Nga (Wide Face Annie Liu), #4 Sung Chin Suet, #13 Chan Wah Yam (Pirated Cherrie Ying), #25 Christy Chan and #28 Roxanne Tong (Kent Tong's niece) were all seen as the hot favorites.

It was said Christy opened a fashion store and sells bootleg clothing: "The customs checked my store and there's no problem. The business is operating as normal."

Roxanne stressed she didn't get plastic surgery and feels the rumor that she dated Ellen Wong's son is nothing special. As for the exposure of her nightclub pictures, and the rumor that she went to meet guys at the nightclub behind her boyfriend Gray's back. Gray was upset and got into a fight with guy. She explained: "The published photos are normal social interactions. I already broke up with Gray and not dating now. I have never had a guy get into a fight because of me."

#13 Chan Wah Yam appeared nervous at the event and stuttered when she spoke. She admitted she has stage fright, and hopes to rely on her bright smile to make up for it. She will also practice hard to improve her eloquence.

#10 Tam Ha, #12 Sam Hang Yin and #19 Wong Sam Wing all have master degrees and are the contestants with the highest education. #10 Tam Ha had on a tight dress, showing off her exceptionally good figure, but she had a heavy Hunan accent. Her one statement: "I am honored to be here with everyone today", turned into "I really regret to be here with everyone today."
