Fala does not sing at home, no comment from boyfriend

type='html'> Fala Chen was invited as a special performer for an electronic company presentation evening last night. She wore a glitzy shift dress and sang some classic songs. Many guests were more familiar with Fala and her acting rather than her singing. One of the most anticipated TVB series ‘Grace Under Fire’ will be airing soon and Fala has been busy filming and doing promotional work. Therefore the plan for the release of Fala’s first solo album will be scheduled for the latter half of the year. Asked if boyfriend complimented on Fala’s singing, Fala revealed: “My home does not have any sound proofing so I rarely practise singing there and go to my singing teacher’s studio instead.” Asked if she is living with boyfriend, Fala did not give a direct reply. She continued that she does not want to practise singing at home as she is afraid of disturbing her neighhours. She further revealed that her living quarters in Hong Kong are not too spacious. When asked if Fala’s record label is sending her down ‘rich singer path’, she laughed: “Small singer’s path? I am going down the ‘Fala’s path’ and I do not know whether it will suit any dance choreography or going down the sexy route.”

Kate: Accidently going into wrong position is normal

Yesterday, TVB held a blessing ceremony for the new series ‘Forensic Hero 3’. Recently, rumours spread about a lot of finger pointing at Kate Tsui's acting. They claimed that she is careless, go into wrong positions and causing many ‘NG’ and others required to re film the scenes. Kate admitted that she did cause some ‘NG’ but there were not many: “We had been filming till 6am most days, by the pier and it was windy, accidently going into the wrong position isn’t a huge mistake.” She continued: “Please do not stir things up and there is little truth in these. I was working during Lunar New Year whilst sick, so I am a serious actress.”

Wayne Lai defended Kate on the accusations, revealed that the script contained many scientific phrases and even with through revision of the scripts, it was easy to get it wrong. He claimed: “I get it wrong still but I don’t go out of my depth. Kate is doing OK. Everyone says I don’t cause many NG but I still sometimes do.”

Ron Ng appears in the new series and plays the role of a police officer, he spoke about during filming in the studio the other day and he accidently left his iPad, script and some photographs in the toilets and had to offer a cash reward of $500 HK dollars to find them. Asked if he was worried about any photographs being leaked, Ron replied that he was not worried because there were only photographs with friends and nothing too personal.

Tavia Yeung Extols Otaru As Best Dating Destination

TVB’s currently aired series, The Rippling Blossom "魚躍在花見" contains the most exceptional scenery found in recent years. Segments of the series were filmed in Furano, Otaru, Sapporo , Hakodate and other places in Japan . The Rippling Blossom star, Tavia Yeung Yi, admitted that she often frequented Japan during her vacation breaks due to its shopping opportunities. However, Tavia especially loved Otaru for its romance!

Aside from Tokyo , Tavia was unable to visit other parts of Japan in the past. Since the filming of The Rippling Blossom took place in Hokkaido , Tavia was able to enjoy the stunning local scenery. “I was so happy! No words can describe the beautiful scenery in Hokkaido . Although it was very cold during the filming, this did not affect my happy mood.” Tavia also praised the local cuisine; her favorite was seafood and the fresh fruit. Since she ate a lot of food while in Hokkaido , Tavia gained a bit of weight.

While filming in Japan , Tavia took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the local attractions. Tavia and Myolie Wu Hang Yee filmed at Hoheikyo hot springs for a scene in The Rippling Blossom. While soaking in the hot springs , Tavia took the opportunity to relax. If there is a chance, Tavia would like to take her mother to soak in Japan ’s hot springs in the snowy weather.

Since The Rippling Blossom focused on food-related content, the cast and crew often filmed at the Tsukiji Fish Market. Tavia said, “I’ve never been to the fish market in Hong Kong, so it was quite an experience to see the fish market in Japan .” However, Tavia’s most beloved location in Japan was Otaru. Due to its romantic scenery, lovers would be mesmerized by Otaru’s beautiful locale. When will Tavia be traveling to Otaru with her boyfriend? Tavia laughed, “I can not do that right now, since I do not have a boyfriend. When there is an opportunity to do so, I will let you know! Ha ha!”

Since the Japanese Yen has soared in recent years, Tavia joked that she has to support the Hong Kong economy and do her shopping there. “The clothes in Hong Kong look pretty stylish. Although the prices are inexpensive, it is a shopping haven..”

Kevin Cheng beats Myolie Wu in red envelope competition

Kevin Cheng and Myolie Wu went to the States for stage performances during the Lunar New Year. Besides earning 6 figures for the performance, the red envelope luck money was also not bad. Kevin thanked his hat for the help, he received nearly 200 red envelopes and beat Myolie. The best part is that when he went to the casino, he bumped into luck and washed away the black luck. Before when he went to gamble, he would always lose, but this time he won a several hundred US dollars. After being lucky over the Lunar New Year period, he did not forget to share with Myolie, so they can be lucky together.

Before Kevin and Myolie departed to the U.S. for the stage performances, they had bet to see who would get the most red envelopes. Because Kevin was shooting a Mainland series and had to have his head shaved, he put on a hat to cover up the bad look. Unexpectedly, in the end it was all because of the hat that won him the bet. At the time he said: "Are you ready? If you're ready, Myolie and I are coming down." He and Myolie went off stage to shake hands with the audience, the audience were all prepared to give out red envelopes to them. As the audiences were very enthusiastic, Kevin immediately took off his hat to collect the red envelopes in it. He describes the night as the time he got the most red envelopes. Kevin was so exaggerated that the hat wasn't enough to hold his red envelopes, so he took a laundry bag to hold them all in.

Myolie said: "On the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, the atmosphere at Los Angeles was very lively, Kevin used his hat to collect the red envelopes and more than me. He won! I got about US$600 worth of red envelopes. After the stage performances, I stayed for two more days and went shopping at the local stores. I bought 3 hats, it's unlucky to buy hats on new years, but nothing is taboo for me. I also bought a lot of new clothes, and eventually I had to buy another suitcase before heading back to HK. (Did you spend any of your earnings from the stage performance?) No, I didn't earn any money, but Kevin won several hundred US dollars, he woke up and gave me $100. Lucky Money has good meaning." She also said it was very cold there, especially in Canada, the temperature was -20 degrees like a huge refrigerator. When I went back to the hotel, there was a big waterfall, although the water was frozen, it had another type of beauty. Besides that, she also went to the Hollywood landmark to take pictures for memories and got a taste of the local seafood. She reveals that the sea urchin she ate was as long as a finger and was round, just speaking of it makes her drool.

Kevin expressed his new year's wish is for a smooth year. He also visited relatives while he was in the States, rare opportunity to have a family reunion during New Years.

Charmaine Sheh offered 15 million yuan, leaves TVB and heads north

TVB FaDans are getting fewer and fewer. Charmaine Sheh entered TVB in 1997 and finally decided that she will not renew her contract when it expires in May, breaking the 14 year relationship. Earlier, Charmaine went to Mainland to shoot series and caught the attention of a Mainland producer offering her 15 million yuan for two years. Compared to TVB's HK$20,000 per episode, there is a huge difference. In addition, there are many Mainland rich men that are pursuing her. Having a new place for her career and love life, the 35 year old Charmaine decided to leave her 'maternal home' (TVB) and head north to develop.

It was understood that Charmaine gets paid HK$20,000 per episode in a TVB series, but going up north to shoot a series, she gets a 5 level jump in price, the Chinese yuan is easy to earn. Also, Charmaine's TVB management contract is ending in May and it's of great importance for TVB to convince Charmaine to stay. TVB Executive Virgina Lok already started discussing the contract with Charmaine last October, but unfortunately there was no news that they will take a step forward, so Charmaine was unwilling to sign the contract renewal. Eventually, she ended up losing the TV Queen title to Sheren Tang at the TVB Anniversary Awards.

TVB offers 10 million for 2 years

At an event earlier, Charmaine generously admitted that she and TVB are discussing of a contract renewal and blurted out: "The Mainland market is huge, there is a need of many artists. The salary for shooting Mainland series are also very high." It was said TVB wanted to foster this biological daughter and spared no expense offering her 10 million for a 2 year contract, but this price still differed from the Mainland producer's offer. No wonder Charmaine delayed on picking up the pen to sign the contract.

Faked the injury?

Although TVB tried all they could and offered a generous price to keep Charmaine, she clearly already made her decision, so he suggested some contract conditions that a basically hard for TVB to accept, then TVB can back up. Charmaine is not afraid of losing TVB, last month she borrowed her arm injury to withdraw from Miu Siu Ching's Forensic Heroes III. Charmaine said herself she need a break for 6 weeks for medical treatment and was afraid to hold up the filming schedule, so she withdrew. However, earlier when Charmaine was out on the streets, her left arm seem pretty flexible and really was not as serious as she described. For this reason, rumors started that she didn't want to shoot the series, so she faked her injury.

Initially When Heaven Burns was scheduled to release in April, but it was recently taken out of the schedule and replaced with Michael Tse's Relic of an Emissary.

Besides the money, Charmaine also hopes to find her Mr. Right soon. In fact, she currently has many rich men from Mainland pursuing her. Until now, she still have not chosen one. Since there are new developments in both her career and love life, so she decided to give it a try.

The day before over the phone, Virgina Lok responded: "We are really still discussing. She suggested some conditions, we are considering it." Yesterday reporters contacted Charmaine to confirm, but she has not responded.

Jay Chou vs. Kobe Bryant in basketball

Jay Chou recently collaborated with Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers in a Sprite commercial acting as opponents on the basketball court. In the commercial Jay is constantly being blocked by Kobe, ending in him saying, "Kobe is like a wall that I can't get past. Even a person, like me, with so much confidence can also become dismayed."

On Kobe, Jay says, "To collaborate with Kobe is the dream of many. To score against him is naturally impossible. The commercial was very creative in having me make a slam dunk on a skateboard. It was inconceivable -- the more impossible it is, the more fun it is." As for Kobe, he also praised Jay saying, "I knew Jay was a very remarkable all-round Chinese singer. His basketball skills greatly surpassed what I imagined and surprised me."

Not only did Jay and Kobe collaborate for the advertisement, they also sang a new single as the theme for the commercial, "天地一鬥" (roughly "Battle Between Heaven and Earth") Both Jay's and Kobe's names are in the lyrics written by Jiun-Lang Huang. This song, composed by Jay, also contains the most English lyrics out of all of Jay's songs. (Previously, the only English was in "Tornado" where he said "Baby.")

Jay plans on filming the MV in the States, and Kobe held a press conference in the US stating that all proceeds from the downloads of the song will go to charity. Though Jay was not present, through a video he said, "When Kobe is bored, he can listen to my songs. To express the pressure of competition, I have many slow and fast songs. I hope we can play ball together next time."

Aaron talks openly about girlfriend Lynn

In the past, whenever the media mentions Lynn Xiong in front of Aaron Kwok, it was a tabooed and Aaron will avoid answering anything about their relationship. Yesterday, reporters caught up with Aaron and asked him if he plans to get married. To the reporters surprise, Aaron blurted out that he has no plan yet. Aaron also complimented on Lynn’s sexy appearance and sensitive personality. Consequently, his comments must have made Lynn feel reassured on their relationship.

Yesterday, Aaron, Angelababy and Eason Chan joined the film crew for the blessing ceremony for the start of shooting for the new film ‘Love around the World’. Apart from the usual tradition of cutting a suckling pig, everyone was required to circle around the camera equipment to bless these too. Eason held the large incense sticks like he was Miss Hong Kong, laughing and joking on his year’s rein was over whilst walking around. He also kept calling director, Chan Kwok Fai, by the name of rich man, Chan Kwok Keung. The atmosphere was lighthearted and casual.

Aaron was secretive about his character in the new film and just revealed that his role is a person related to flying. When reporters asked if he played an astronaut, he laughed: “I did not say that!” Someone amongst his midst shouted that he did not look like an astronaut but more as Lynn’s husband. Aaron did not respond to this and just replied: “I am concentrating on this role at the moment, since it is a type of role I have never played before.” Asked if he thought about getting married, he replied firmly: “No, I am definite on this!”

Aaron and Rene Lau will be playing lovers for the first time, Aaron revealed: “I met Lai Chai (Rene’s nickname) at Angelica Lee’s wedding. The married couple were telling everyone about their love story and I saw Lai Chai become very emotional. I think Renee is a very emotional person so I will try and utilise this for our characters in the filming.” When asked if he noticed Rene a lot, he responded: “Don’t be so sensitive, I mean I will concentrate on portraying a lover's emotion for my character. I know how to break away from the character when not filming.” Asked if girlfriend Lynn will be jealous, Aaron laughed: “You are complicating this” Continued to ask Aaron about his relationship, reporters asked if Aaron like more sensitive or sexier girlfriend. He replied that from a man’s perspective, it is best to have both. Does Lynn have both? Aaron without hesitation answered: “Yes!” When asked why he openly decided to talk about his girlfriend, he answered: “Yes I am very open today!”

Aside from Aaron and Renee playing lovers, Eason and Kwai Lun Mei also plays another couple. Their characters are waste disposal man and artist with obsessive compulsive disorder. Lun Mei revealed she is Eason’s fan and when asked if she is excited to be able to be starring alongside her idol, she calmly said: “I am looking forward to it.” Asked on her thoughts over Fan Bing Bing dropping out before she was chosen to play her role, she answered: “I respect director’s decision. I do not feel bad.”

Reporters talked to Eason and asked him if he likes TVB new boss, Chan Kwok Keung and if he wanted to return to TVB to do some singing. Eason laughed: “I was just joking around, his name just came out at a slip of the tongue! However if he asked me, I would be happy to co-operate.” Asked if Eason’s singing contract is due with Universal Records. He replied: “I have an album release today and another one to plan for soon, so my contract is not due for renewal for a while. Not much news there. These days, my wife is the new career woman and working in the Mainland and earning a lot!”

Wu Chun drops out of Absolute Boyfriend and remains without contract

It's recently been revealed that Wu Chun's contracts with HIM and Comic had expired at the end of last year and there are no signs of him renewing the contracts after two months. He has stated before that the reason he would stop singing would be for his father. While there have still been promotions for a Fahrenheit album release, all the work Wu Chun has done for it was merely to fill the last of the requirements of his contract.

It has also been leaked that Wu Chun has dropped out of both his upcoming series (Absolute Boyfriend) and movie (Summer Holiday 2) leading to many speculations of him preparing to leave the entertainment industry. As of present, Wu Chun has expressed when interviewed that he has thought about leaving. For his fans, though, he will not depart rashly. However, he will not be putting his whole heart into the entertainment industry in the future.

In the five years he has been in showbiz, Wu Chun has only been able to take a vacation on New Year each year. This has been making him feel ashamed at the neglect over his own family and has previously been made to think about working less and spending more time taking care of his father. Wu Chun's father also hoped that his son did not have to work so hard and go back to Brunei to led a simple life. Thus, at the end of his contract last year, Wu Chun moved back to Brunei, and has been there since.

On February 13th, the third branch of Wu Chun's fitness gym opened and when he was interviewed then, he finally revealed what he was truly thinking. "I have always said that if I was happy doing what I did, then I would continue. If I wasn't happy, I would return to Brunei. Everyone knows that the entertainment industry isn't the only thing I partake in. The company has discussed renewing the contact with me, but I have not made a decision on my future yet, so I've been pushing it off." Wu Chun also emphasized that Brunei is his true home. Seeing how happy he was at being home, he was asked whether he really hadn't thought about leaving the industry to which he answered, "I do want to a little because I really miss my family. Since coming back home, I have been very happy, but also feel a bit guilty because I didn't take good care of my father in the past and wasn't able to accompany him to the doctors for his back and legs."

Thinking about the past five years, he said, "I originally had a pretty good life, but I also had a sense of accomplishment when living a life where I could take care of myself. At the same time, that satisfaction was cut in half. The half I lost was spending time with my family and my freedom. I actually don't have much confidence in my acting, most of the force that pushed me was from my fans, so I won't speak of quitting so easily. I will continue working, but I require a lot of freedom and will only take on jobs I like." Regarding work in the entertainment industry, he said, "It requires sacrifice. I really cherish everything that I learned each day while working. It will be helpful in all the decisions I make in the future. Even if it will be hard, I will face everything with a positive attitude."

Weekly ratings recap

It took awhile but “The Fierce Wife” finally exploded in popularity three months after it hit the airwaves. The SETTV-produced drama (airing on TTV) scored a series-high of 3.12% last Friday, and then 2.7% for its cable rerun on Saturday. Although “Wife” is nowhere close to taking over first place, it does appear to be making a dent on “Rookies’ Diary” which averaged 6.3% last week. FTV said they are not overly concerned by the recent performance of "Rookies". They believe it's a short-term issue since “Wife” is almost at the end of its run.

Hayate completes its filming

Just a few days ago, GTV’s “Hayate The Combat Butler” completed its filming. Since lead actress Park Shin-Hye had already returned to Korea, the crew all voted for her as the “queen of retakes” at the after-party. But lead actor George Hu felt bad and decided to take on the title as "king of retakes". He explained, “I admit that I caused quite a lot of retakes. I can remember my dialogues but because my Chinese isn’t perfect, I would have to retake.”

Costar and Otaku Goddess Tia Li has been nicknamed “dashing Li” for her busy schedule as she constantly received offers to film commercials while shooting for the drama; she would often dash in and out of the set once she finishes her scenes. In hope to get rid of her nickname, she stayed for the celebration party. After she got drunk and was about to be carried home by her manager, she kept shouting, “I want to continue!”

Wu Hoo member Shao Xiang laughed, "My friends didn't think it was anything when they heard that I was filming with George Hu and Park Shin-Hye, but their eyes became wide open when I said Tia Li." His friends also attempted to get Tia's contact number from him.

In the commercial, Aarif dances with other dancers, causing dust to spread around. All the staff had to wear masks, but Aarif did not wear any.
