Chen Han Dian Wants to Be the Comic Leehom Wang

Only spent four years in the showbiz, Chen Han Dian jumps from being just an unknown assistant host to now a popular artiste. The goofball in popular talk show "Kangxi Laile" is even rumored of earning $260,000 per episode. His manager reveals the secret to his success: keeping the mystery.

To build a mysterious feeling, the "Monga" actor is not allowed to attend to other shows as guest. His personal life would be revealed easily and that would break the mystery. His manager would tell people who invite the 25 year old to their shows: "Do you see Leehom Wang a regular in many shows?"

Not only that, his manager restricted the artiste to appear in public places often with the same reason: keeping the mystery. The young actor cannot even go to pubs like other artistes because his manager afraid his handsomeness would attract lots of girls.

Not even a slip of alcohol is allowed because his image has to be "clean and fresh." His manager would tell him: "Can you imagine Leehom Wang drinking?" The only leisure activities he can do is stay at home, play video games, watch television, or dance crazily in the living room until his family goes shock.

Not to be outdone by Korean boyband Super Junior, Taiwan's Alien Huang leads labelmates 2MORO, Fun 4 Band, 君子號 (Nobleman’s Roar), SK8, and Wei Guo Yuan to create 12-member group Playboyz.

The Playboyz name proudly displays how its members can both play and sing, with hosts, skateboarders, commercial stars, songwriters, and schoolboy looks adding to their appeal. New video previews for Joe Cheng and Amber Kuo's "Channel-X" shed some light on plot details

It'll be a couple more weeks until we get our dose of Joe Cheng and Amber Kuo's latest drama Channel-X, but SETTV has tangled in front of us a few videos that offer glimpses of the plot details. When this idol drama was first announced, the only plot information given was some sort of rivalry between a news anchor (Joe) and a paparazzi (Amber), but based on the video previews, the story is clearly much more complex that that.

It's already shaping up to be a thriller along the theme of existing Taiwanese thrillers such as Black & White, but replacing the traditional law enforcers protagonists with more unorthodox news providing ones. At least it's a nice change of pace from your usual romantic dramas and romantic comedies as of late.

Rainie visits Wu Chun's home?

Rainie Yang and Wu Chun have understandably gotten closer due to filming GTV's idol drama, "Sunshine Angel". They seemed to have become so close that after Rainie won the 2010 Golden Bell Best Leading Actress Award, she immediately flew to Wu Chun's homeland, Brunei, for vacation. Though there were rumors of them being together, after further investigation, it was confirmed that Wu Chun was in Mainland China for album promotions with the rest of Fahrenheit. But Rainie was indeed in Brunei and was vacationing together with her mother.

The reason that Rainie chose Brunei to spend her vacation from the 25th-28th was because of Wu Chun's enthusiastic recommendation during "Sunshine Angel" filming. Not only that, Wu Chun's assistant, who is also his older cousin, helped her book the hotels and made suggestions for her itinerary. Her manager has denied any entering and leaving of Wu Chun's home in Brunei, as some have reported seeing, or that they even met considering he was busy with promotions in Mainland and shooting a commercial in Guangzhou.

"Sunshine Angel" still has no slated air date yet, and will most likely be pushed to early next, but the two leads seem to be getting along just fine.

Which is no surprise. Appledaily has crowned Jay Chou as the top money making singer of 2010. The popular annual ranking was based on figures provided by record companies, advertisers and concert organizers.

President Chou has outdone himself again by making an estimated 852 million NTD in 2010. Jay Chou completed 31 shows as part of his world concert tour, 20 paid performances, as well as numerous endorsement deals.

Coming in second was none other than his ex Jolin Tsai. The songstress was estimated to have earned 457.69 million NTD from music royalties, endorsements, concerts, paid performances and clothing line. Since the inception of this ranking in 2004, Double-J has earned a whopping 4.9 billion NTD with 3.1 of it coming from Jay Chou alone. Behind them in third place was S.H.E. Prior to Selina’s accident, the group has already earned 380 million NTD in 2010. In addition to album sales, endorsements and concert tour, they also showed their diversity with Ella’s drama and Hebe’s solo album.

Neitzens tell Producer Lee Tim Shing to fulfill of "picking crap"

Towards the No Regrets story, Neitzens had different opinions. Although the majority praised the series "good to watch", after the finale, they lost the feeling. The Neitzens with high standards criticized the finale's flaws, even saying that No Regrets was worst than the first season Rosy Business. Neitzens told the ones who boasted the series earlier to fulfill their promises.

In the finale, Wayne's role Lau Sing lost his memory for several 10 years was just a rushed explanation, Neitzens felt it was a sloppy ending. This arrangement disappointed those who were chasing the series all along. They ask that those who once said: "if this series is not good, then will go pick cow crap", including Producer Lee Tim Shing, Wayne Lai and Fala Chen to fulfill their promises. One Neitzen changed the subtitles to one scene from "Eat Crap, Leung Fei Fan!" to "Eat Crap, Lee Tim Shing!"

Sheren tang turns down many jobs to get back to HK for TV Queen battle

Last night, TVB held the No Regrets - Some Day Popular In the City event inviting 500 audience, No Regrets and the Some Day casts to watch the finale together. Sheren Tang, Wayne Lai, Fala Chen, Raymond Wong, Susan Tse, Johnson Lee, Teresa Mo, Wong He, Aimee Chan, Kristal Tin and many more attended. Resuming his GM position at TVB not long ago, Stephen Chan also attended and even greeted Sheren.

Towards the ratings and TV Queen title, Sheren said full of confidence: "I especially scheduled to come back to HK tonight for this event, actually for every promotion, I specially made arrangements to attend. I turned down a lot of jobs to earn extra money, but no choice how much can I take, I fell it's worth it! (TVB promoting NR, paving the road for awards?) I don't feel it's like that! It's an anniversary series, we already said earlier that we'll be watching the finale together. But if it's not true, not bad, I will get Tung Tai's 3000 disciples to vote! (Taking the opportunity to pull in votes?) Not necessary! The ones who watched NR will automatically vote for us. (Have confidence ratings will surpass Jewels In The Palace?) Definitely win! if not, I will accept the reality, write the 3 words of my name 'Cheng Gau Mui's backwards, I am saying my role 'Cheng Gau Mui!"

Sheren continues: "On the night of the awards ceremony, I will be back in HK because I guessed that I'm in top 5. This is an event by the Hong Kong TV industry, to attend this event expresses your support. Mainland artists and staff are also very concerned of this awards ceremony. (You were just getting votes with the TVb executive?) I was just greeting Stephen Chan because I haven't seen him in a while."

TV King hot favourite Wayne Lai expressed that he has an injury on him: "Last night I was shooting for Lunar New Year film, I Love Hong Kong, when suddenly my leg had a 'pak' sound, my left leg could not bend at a wide angle, Eric Tsang said I had a muscle tear on my leg and should rest for two weeks before I go back to work. (Confidence for TV King?) Yes! But, have to see how the TV ratings are like, high ratings means greater chance. On TVB.com, NR has more than a million clicks, I discovered that a lot of people are following my series, I have confidence for good ratings." Yesterday afternoon, Wayne attended Christmas event and when speaking of "Chai Gau" and "Lau Sing roles bringing him more opportunities to earn extra money, he said: "Hard to compare, Rosy Business already finished broadcasting last year, NR probably needs to wait until next year before results are seen."

As for Fala Chen, she was asked if she told her "mother-in-law" to support NR? She said: "I told all the people around me to support the show, this year I am nominated for both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, although I have already won Best Supporting Actress, I really like my role in NR, it is my turning point in my acting career, I hope to get recognition. However, it is a tough competition, Susan Tse and Nancy Wu are quite strong too!" Also, last night, a middle-aged lady felt unwell during thr NR finale and was sent to hospital.
