JJ Lin sings on ice; "Remember" gets MV treatment

type='html'>Looks like Ocean Butterflies Music is trying all kinds of methods to get the singer-songwriter to renew his contract with the company, after working together for eight years. In addition to spending big bucks to film a 15-minute short film for JJ Lin, an extravagant press conference was held for the singer at Beijing to celebrate the release of his new album, “She Says”. At -5 degrees Celsius, the stage was situated on an ice rink, serving as a platform for a 7 million dollar (NT) grand piano reserved for the singer.

JJ performed on the piano with his fingers freezing as he played; he wittily joked to his manager, “Why are you trying to ‘freeze’ me?” – which is a term used in Chinese to describe a company neglecting a certain artist or putting all his/her activities on hold. Even with all the record company’s efforts, JJ has yet to accept his renewal contract.

At the press con, fellow singers such as A-Mei Chang, ELVA Hsiao, and Jay Chou sent their blessings via a recorded video clip. A-Mei even took the opportunity to say, “JJ, you wrote me ‘Remember’ ten years ago, and I’ve been waiting ever since for you to help me and Amit to write a new song!”

JJ Lin's "She Says" album is now available for preorder at YesAsia!
