Nicky uses money to punish malicious poster

Recently Nicky Cheung has been involved in a threatening case in Mainland. This had led to Nicky taking legal advice to help resolve the situation. If the case goes to court, Nicky might be required as a witness to the investigation for the Mainland authorities. The case all started from Nicky’s Weibo profile.

Once nominated many times and awarded for best actor in 2008, Nicky uses the Weibo site to communicate with his fans about his ambitions and updates. Through the responses he received there was one person who responded in a rather hostile attitude. The poster spent 4 months attacking Nicky via his Weibo profile. The poster made comments and allegations about Nicky’s sexual health and about Nicky’s wife Esther’s loyalty to the family and claimed that Esther will leave him. The comments were intended to personally attack Nicky and the rudest comment of all was regarding Nicky’s daughter is not his. Originally Nicky ignored these posts however these became more and more serious and malicious so Nicky decided that ignorance was not the option.

It was reported that last month, one female fan from Shanghai decided to respond to the poster’s comments. Consequently the poster responded that this fan and Nicky must be having an affair. The poster also managed to find out where this fan lived and threatened her by telling this fan to show her face and settle this otherwise, they will appear in person to the fan’s home and harm her.

The female fan decided to outdrawn what she said and made an apology to this poster. However the poster did not want to let this go, this made Nicky very angry. Nicky acquired legal advice from a lawyer in Shanghai and yesterday left a comment: “There is no free meal in this world. You have shouted for so long and you must be responsible for yourself. It is time to check out!” Nicky was insinuating that the war between him and the poster has begun!

Yesterday reporters caught up with Nicky, he expressed that if the female fan decided to call the police, he will fly to Shanghai and stand as a witness and ensure there is a full investigation. Nicky said: “I cannot withstand the poster’s threats, now it involves the fan’s safety. Sort it out with me not her as it has nothing to do with her! I welcome this poster to come to Hong Kong, they can find me via Emperor Motion Pictures.”

Nicky expressed that he is not scared to pursue this further, he expressed: “I have nothing to hide, I am not afraid of this.” Asked how Esther feels about this situation, he replied: “I do not want my family involved. She has fans in Mainland and some I have met and whom are very nice and polite.” With a deep sigh, Nicky said: “Recent years I have done charity work to help young people who missed schooling. I do not understand why they don’t put their energy into getting educated but rather hurtful things to people, they do not feel ashamed for their parents?”

Nicky had requested Weibo for help and had all the comments deleted and his account suspended for 2 months. Nicky sighed: ”The Internet can be scary. Messages can be left without doubt of any responsibility. I am considering having my Weibo account closed now.”
