The friendly actress has yet to receive a role that would make her want to make a comeback
Hong Kong actress Cherie Chung who bowed out of showbiz in the early 90s, showed that she's still a star.
A few days ago, Cherie, dressed in a black laced v-neck dress, was seen at the opening of a jewellery shop in Chong Qing, China. The 51-year-old flashed her trademark smile and looked stunning.
According to a staff member who was at the event, Cherie does not have any airs and would readily smile and greet every one.
It was also said that, when on her trip, Cherie had no special requests and only stayed in a normal suite.
Recently, Cherie's peers like Maggie Cheung and Brigitte Lin are all active in the showbiz. When asked if Cherie had anything lined up, the actress laughed and said, "Well, I'm already here, aren't I? I don't come without a reason."
Will Cherie be making a comeback then?
The actress expressed that although many directors have approached her over the years, but with no suitable roles available, she has no plans to participate in any movies as yet.
Cherie's husband passed away due to colon cancer four years ago. When asked about her current relationship status, the actress replied in her less than perfect Mandarin, "Let's not talk about this."
Just when Cherie was about to take her leave, someone in the crowd shouted, "I hope you will be happy!"
Upon hearing that, the actress turned around with a smile and said, "Thank you!"
