Vin Choi's father assaulted, missing 4 hours and now in a coma life in danger

TVB artist Vin Choi's father (Mr. Choi) was suffered from an ambush near his residence in Sham Shui Po yesterday morning. The suspects used a hard object and assaulted Mr. Choi on the head. Wounded, Mr. Choi chased after the suspects and after 4 hours he collapsed near the stairway of his home and is in a critical situation. Mr. Choi is now in a coma from the assault and the motives of the suspects are under question. The Sham Shui Po Regional Crime Unit (RCU) police are currently following up with an investigation on financial, sexual and personal backgrounds.

Vin later learned of the assault and rushed to the hospital to get an understanding. He expressed he did not know the reason of his father's assault

An odd assault case occurred in Sham Shui Po, the victim is Mr. Choi (X) Hung, aged 49. According to sources, Mr. Choi and his wife have been divorced for several years, but still maintain a good relationship. He later started cohabiting with another girl in Sham Shui Po on Ki Lung Street. According to his neighbors, the building had several instances of the gates stolen. Later, the gates were replaced and more steel chains were added. The situation had improved since, but because of the lack of security, people could easily go in and out of the building.

Yesterday at 12pm, a resident was walking up the stairways and was shocked to discover Mr. Choi, wounded on the head, lying on the stairs with a lot of blood around him. The resident quickly called the police and rushed him to the hospital. Mr. Choi was sent to Caritas Medical Centre for immediate care and then transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital.

The police blocked the crime scene and conducted an on-the-spot investigation. Drops of blood was discovered underneath the stairs and on the gates. The residents said they saw a man getting pushed to the ground and used a hard object to hit his head. The nearby shop worker expressed, yesterday morning at 7am, he saw a man with a head full of blood sitting at the building entrance and then walked about 50 meters towards Wong Chuk Street and then he didn't know what happened after.

As Mr. Choi was in a coma since he arrived at the hospital, the police was unable to move forward on the investigation. After preliminarily investigation, the police believe that he chased after the suspects after the assault, but then went missing for 4 hours. The police will temporarily treat this as an injury case and will pass the case onto the Sham Shui Po's RCU team to follow up. RCU have been doing background checks.

Vin rushed to the hospital after learning about his father's assault and was deeply worried. He sat outside of the ICU deeply worried and waited for news. After several hours, he left and accepted an interview. He expressed his gratitude for the concern and that he does not know of the reason yet. The case has been passed to the police to handle and if there are any news, it will be announced.

The neighbor living below Mr. Choi's unit expressed as far as he knows, Mr. Choi and a girl moved in a couple years ago, so he does not know them well. However, before Chinese New year, the unit on the 6th floor had a break in and a watch was stolen.
