Tony Leung Chiu Wai in the film THE SILENT WAR (TING FUNG JEH) played a blind piano tuner with exceptional hearing; by chance he runs into the Zhou Xun played 701 Operation Office member who leads him to become an important member. Zhou Xun said that this time they could not act with their eyes, which was somewhat difficult; yet they had more lighter and more humorous spots and she and Wai Jai got along very well.
The film shot on location in Shanghai. Wai Jai at first had to acclimatize and was often nauseous on the set. He did not want to affect the shoot and worked while he was ailing. Directors Alan Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung praised his professionalism and Zhou Xun for her much improved acting.
