Yesterday, Eric Tsang's father, Tsang Kai Wing, passed away in Taiwan, aged 94. When Eric was interviewed, he said with grief that his father passed away peacefully, with his children and grandchildren beside him. Eric is currently preparing his father's funeral, expecting the ceremony will happen after Chinese New Year.
It was rumoured that Eric Tsang's father, Tsang Kai Wing, have not been feeling well during the past year. Eric returned to Taiwan several times to stay with his father. The day before yesterday, during the promotion in Singapore of the film I love Hong Kong, Eric received news of the sudden change of his father's sickness. He immediately returned to Taiwan to see his father until 6pm last night, Eric's father passed away in Taipei Veteran General Hospital, aged 94. When asked what caused his father's death, Eric only said, "It's just elderly sickness, after all he's getting old. Thank you for everyone's concern! I will be holding a farewell ceremony for my father after the 15th (Lunar Calender)."
Grandpa passed away peacefully
Last night reporters called Eric Tsang's son, Derek Tsang, and he said the family is preparing for his grandfather's funeral. When asked about his father, he said, "Everyone was prepared (for his grandfather's death), I felt comfort when he died peacefully. He knew all his family was beside him. (Will the funeral be in Taiwan?) It should be held in Hong Kong. (After the 15th?) Should be, but I don't want to say too much. We are still discussing about it."
