Friends pray for Alan Tang

Known as “Student Prince”, Alan Tang Kwong Wing last week passed away due to heart disease. Yesterday was Big Brother’s first 7 and his family and friends including Chan Suk Fun and her son Chan Ka Ho went to his home. Everyone prepared some items for first 7. The garden also had a lot of paper offering.

Tang Kwong wing’s wife and daughters yesterday along with friends and family conducted the first 7 ceremony for Big Brother at the Hong Kong Funeral Home and prayed for him. Big Brother’s elder daughter Tang Yip Yan said that friends and family also came, but the pall bearer list has not yet been set. Would the Performing Artist Guild assist? She said, “Thank you.” Many Big Brother’s friends attended the ceremony. They included John Chiang Dai Wai, Joyce Cheng Yun Yi, Jacky Cheung Hok Yau and May Law Mei Mei, Connie Chan Bo Chu, Yang Tin King, Yeung Chiu Sing, Philip Chan Yun Kin and his daughter.

Chan Yun Kin pointed out that yesterday many friends came to pray for Big Brother. Reporters saw friends and family with lucky charms, was this a secret service? He denied that and said that Big Brother’s services will take place on the 14th and the 15th. He pointed out that Mrs. Tang was very heart broken. Perhaps everything reminded her of him, every time an old friend came she would cry. Chan Yun Kin pointed out that Big Brother in his heart was a real leader and praised Big Brother as a very loyal person. His passing was truly too sudden. He hoped that his family would be able to live on strongly.
In addition, Radio and Television Hong Kong produced a special WE MISS ALAN TANG special in memory of this forever “Student Prince” and described the source of the nickname Big Brother. In an interview from 1995 or 96, Big Brother said that when he was little he was called Wing Jai, but he did not know when everyone started calling him Big Brother. Big Brother has been in the business for several decades and made countless films. His co-stars were all beauties. His favorite film was Joe Cheung Tung Cho’s RETURN ENGAGEMENT (JOI JIN GONG WU) and FLAMING BROTHERS (GONG WU LUNG FU MOON), in RETURN ENGAGEMENT he and Law Mei Mei played father and daughter. Among his film company distributions, his favorite was AS TEARS GO BY (WONG GOK KA MOON), not DAYS OF BEING WILD (AH FEI JING JUEN).

Big Brother also pointed out that his father operated many theaters in the Mainland and saw many opera actors’ life habits. Thus he was extremely opposed to him entering show business. In his movies his co-stars were all beauties like Brigitte Lin (Lam Ching Ha) and Brigitte Lin (Lam Ching Ha), but rarely had many rumor. He honestly said that as soon as he got into character he would love his co-star very much, but he would remind himself not to do “anything else”. Speaking of his married life, he said that when two people got together they needed time to adjust and be tested. No one could be right all the time Unless they were intended on signing divorce papers, they wanted to maintain the relationship they had to keep the other’s feeling in mind.
