There is a chance that the much-loved on-screen lovers Ming Dao and Joe Chen QiaoEn will team up once again for upcoming Mainland drama 王的女人/The King's Woman. Fans' reactions to the news have been at two extremes; some of Ming Dao's fans were vehemently opposed, fighting and insulting all the way to QiaoEn's WeiBo. She was so upset that she responded, "What's the point of making such a fuss about who I work with? . . . You're not the ones acting; why are you so anxious?" She deleted her reply shortly afterwards.QiaoEn and Ming Dao have collaborated on three idol dramas already, including the popular 王子變青蛙/The Prince Who Turns Into a Frog. Over the years, many fans have unceasingly hoped for more and more collaborations from the two. 于正 Yu Zheng, producer of such hit dramas as 美人心計/Schemes of a Beauty and 宮/Palace, revealed some details about his new project, 王的女人/The King's Woman, on his WeiBo: "The male and female lead are heavyweights from Taiwan. They've worked together numerous times already and are very popular." Fans immediately thought of QiaoEn and Ming Dao for the roles of 項羽 Xiang Yu and 呂雉 Lu Zhi. The couple are also at the top of the WeiBo polls for fantasy casting of the drama.
Ming Dao admitted to having received an invitation for the drama; the chances that he'll take the role are high. He knows that QiaoEn has also received an invitation and is hoping that she'll accept as well. QiaoEn's manager, 陳玉立 Chen YuLi, confirmed that they've been contacted. The drama calls for a portrayal of 呂雉 Lu Zhi from youth to old age, and the role is quite challenging; QiaoEn's interest is, therefore, rather high.
